Chiefs left tackle Albert changes agents

Matt Cassel, Branden Albert AP

Offensive tackle Branden Albert is one of a host of Chiefs players entering the last year of their contracts. Unsigned franchise player Dwayne Bowe, defensive end Glenn Dorsey, guard Ryan Lilja, running back Peyton Hillis, and linebacker Jovan Belcher are also under control only through 2012.

Albert will soon begin angling for a contract extension, and has changed agents in advance of those negotiations, Liz Mullen of SportsBusiness Journal reports. Formerly represented by Todd France, Albert’s new agents will be Brad Leshnock and Joe Flanagan of BTI Sports.

Albert, 27, has been the Chiefs’ starting left tackle for the last four years. He made it through a 16-game season for the first time in his career in 2011.
