Panthers re-sign Jordan Senn

The Panthers announced Thursday that they have re-signed linebacker Jordan Senn.

Senn, who is the smallest linebacker in the league at 5'11 and 224 pounds, filled in as a starter seven times for the Panthers last season and acquitted himself pretty well. He had two 14-tackle games in those starts and finished the year with 73 stops overall.

Coach Ron Rivera has hinted that he’ll get a chance at earning a starting role, but Senn might be ticketed for a return to the special teams/backup role he has played most of his time in Carolina. With Thomas Davis making big plans about staying healthy, Jon Beason also returning and James Anderson still on hand, there’s not an obvious spot for Senn in the starting lineup. He played well enough to get a look, though, and keeping him gives the Panthers good depth at the position again this year.
