See the Passing Off stat? Top Half in the NFL in Passing yards….8 or 9 times in 20 seasons….2 out of 3 when he was an assistant.

So as a head coach, Top 16 in Passing Yard 6 times in 17 years. Top 10 THREE times. In 17 years.

The man can not cultivate an offense and is going to ruin Sam Bradford…..you know, unless Drew Bennett is available to man the #1 receiver position.

-------------------------------------------

Fisher was hired to coach a team who's QB was Billy Joe Tolliver, he then went through Dave Kreig and Chris Chandler before being able to start McNair. It just so happened that while having McNair, he also had a roadgrinder O-Line and Eddie George.

When McNair was released, he had to deal with another running QB only that one, couldn't throw the ball. Vince Young was forced on him by Bud Adams. He then had to turn to Kerry Collins and it just so happened that he could then lean on Chris Johnson.

Also, If you'd like to add his years as an assistant (Defensive) to his stats, You'd also need to add in Joe Montana/Steve Young from 92-93, Jim Everett from 1991, Ron Jaworski/Randall Cunningham from 1986-1990, and Jim McMahon with the Bears in 1985...

Notre Dame's receiver is legit, he will be a star one day. You have a 1st overall QB throwing to who? Danny Amendola. Danny is my guy from his Philly days, but not even close to first or 2nd string receiver material. How many superbowls does Brady have with an Amendola type receiver (welker) as his go to guy? Zero. Jeff, get your boy a target.

For what it’s worth, Fisher didn’t start making his own draft picks until Floyd Reese was fired.

Dyson was on Reese, The release of Derrick Mason was due to the Titans being $25M over the cap.

For a coach that didn’t care for the passing game, Fishers teams passed for 3,000 yards or more 14 times in 16 years.

Look it up.

@ realitypolice

I consider myself "warned".

Seven of the top nine rushing teams in the league won at least seven games last year.

Statistically teams are running the ball as much as they did 20 years ago.

So apparently the running game is not extinct.

If Fisher's system has shown anything, it's that he can win games with a marginal passing game. Which is good, because that's what he'll have in 2012.

The Rams running game is one dimensional and easy to defend. Having Richardson and Jackson in his backfield will make life easier for Bradford, and gives the team an identity on offense for the next couple seasons until Sam proves he's able to put the team on his shoulders.

His comments may sound a bit self-serving, but he's not wrong. It's just too hard to win in this league without any legit outside receivers. Bradford should be their franchise guy going forward-- they need to put some real weapons around him. They can get a back like Chris Polk or Robert Turbin later in the draft if they want another bruiser, or an Isaiah Pead or LaMichael James type if they want a speed complement.

If Richardson is available, Fisher is taking him.

This is exactly what I warned St. Louis fan about with this dinosaur. He still believes you games running between the tackles. He would rather cut off a leg than draft a reciever in the top 10.

But you can't knock his system. It's gotten him into the playoffs 35% of the time over his coaching career.

Outside of QB, RB, MLB or DE any player they select at #6 will be a day 1 starter and if they picked Richardson he'd be the first decent backup RB they've had in 5 years with a chance to take Jackson's place in the near future. It's pretty much best player available for the Rams.

49er fan here. The Rams are a few key players away from being a dangerous team. That defense is maturing and developing at a nice pace. If the O can just hold the ball a little longer they could be a threat.
