If the Eagles choose Tannehill then organization is telling us that Reid will be here over a year to "groom" him. If this is indded a "do or die" season for Reid then there is no way we are choosing a QB. I hope we do choose a DT or a Safety in the 1st round.

Why do so many of you idiots still think we will go after kuechley? He's an INSIDE linebacker and, earth to birds fans: does the name Demeco Ryan's mean anything to you? Were not going to draft Kuechley and move him outside. If we do it would be disastrous. What do I think were gonna do? SS or DT but I'm leaning DT. What I can garauntee is were going have a wait and see approach because this draft is loaded with talent at the top and there will be a quality player available at 15. No need to trade up.

Also wouldn't be surprised to see Asante traded to improve our picks, I would keep him though. More and more teams are running 3 and 4 receiver sets so we can't have a schmuck in the slot. And do feed me any crap about not having money for him, were in great cap shape.

Go ahead and draft either. You’ll be in the same position before and after the draft as last year. Needing OLB help, O line help and a non tackling secondary.
------------------------

The O line is set recognizing that Bell is not Peters. They will look for developmental and backups. So they don't need to draft OL in the first couple of rounds. Merely getting Ryans and moving Chaney outside helps the LB situation. As for the non-tackling seconday, the real problem with tackling was the Casey Matthews experiment. So they really are not in the same position.

But since you brought it up, what suggestions do you have? How would you go about drafting?

IMO, Cox very likely won't make it to pick 15. The Eagles have traded up in the past to get their guy, and this year may be no different. Cox is a very solid prospect, and if he is still on the board at 14, I hope the Cowboys snag him (if they themselves don't trade out of that position). The Eagles will very likely have a strong draft. They usually do, so whoever their first pick is, he is likely to be a solid player with a high motor, and good character.

As a Cowboy fan, my disdain for the Eagles is very real, but I do respect the organization for doing a great job with their drafts. I only hope the Cowboys can draft as good or better, and with last year's successful draft for Dallas, I think this year they follow up on it.

I heard the Eagles were purposely trying to lose at the end of the year to move up in the draft board to get Fletcher. They had a phrase for it, it wasn’t “Suck for Luck” but I can’t remember what it was.

Dude, really? We won our last four games and were still fighting for a playoff spot all the way up to the last game. I know you're trying to be funny, but the joke be better if we were actually losing games at the end of the season. Here- no way they trade with Cleveland, everybody knows they wait and take Cox around 6, or longer.

Fletcher Cox is unequivocally the best defensive lineman in this draft. He is 6'5 300lbs and runs a 4.8; he can play 3 tech or 5tech in a 3/4 with excellent effectiveness; and i would argue that he could very easily drop 15 lbs and become a defensive end.

Watch him play Vs Alabama. Their excellent offensive line couldn't stop him from disrupting just about any kind of play and getting consistent pressure.

He has the height/weight/speed to please Al davis and an excellent sense for defensive line play across the line. His skills are refined but not to the point of a Gerald McCoy who's moves could probably never improve from his college days.

Cox will not make it past Carolina by any stretch.
The eagles would either have to Move up to get him or take either Kuechly or Barron as the next best DT isn't high enough value. Poe = No and the rest are all about the same skill level and therefore devalued. Look at Cincinatti's Wolfe for a later pick and UNC's Zach brown as an ideal 2nd round pick if the eagles can take Barron (as they should) in the first round.

That is all.

Isn't this obvious?

What kind of ****storm would there be if the Eagles moved up to number 4 and took Tannehill?

I'm not saying they shouldn't be finding their next franchise QB, because Vick is not long for the team, but there is no way they would trade up this year for a QB.

I'm not sure Cox is worth trading up to the Brown's pick, though. He might still be there at 15.

@snowpea84

Actually, the Eagles haven't really drafted a DT "High". Bunkley was taken at 14, its the top-half but not high. Cox is what the Eagles are looking for, Brockers could be the pick too but there just isn't enough tape on him and he would slide to them naturally. I have a feeling that Philly will be calling the Bills come draft day if Cox is on the board after Carolina, Buffalo could definetly move back, and should. The Bills moving back makes the task of taking a Michael Floyd (If he's still there) or Johnathan Martin much easier to swallow. It would also atleast guaruntee us another 2nd, where I think teams will be made this season. You mentioned Lavonte David for the Eagles in their "Team Needs", but I really hope the Bills take him, you could call it a man-crush if you will. Either way, I think this could be a scenario that definetly happens come draft day, and it would make both teams better.
