The real question is does he want to risk the chance of him being caught?? If he does, does that mean lifetime ban?
======================================
so sorry but there is no real Question when ur simply talking about guessing what someone might do in a givin hypothetical scenario.

How fitting that the post I just made about Florio’s lack of journalistic integrity was mysteriously deleted. LOL.

I fully agree with you on this one, I too have post that get pulled anytime you print something negative about HIM (F-L-O-R-I-O)
Isn't it funy how he writes all these meaningless stories of his opinion about how terrible the players and Saints are yet he tries to cover-up anythng about himself by pulling it from print. Isn't that like being a cheat and only allow good things but negative things are hidden from review? Sort of like his articles - one sided all the time.

Obvious Payton has not learned his lesson by being suspended for a year, he still wants to go past the rules of suspension. Hope God-del calls him to his office again, after all this is what happened to some of the players that did not get it with the fines for illegal hits.

What do you mean he wants to go past the rules of suspension???? Your interpertation of something is gonna happen that we don't know about? How did he past the rules if his suspension just started Monday and nothing has happen yet??

And for players and fines for illegal hits. . . Which illegal hits are you talking about? Because if the hits were illegal the ref would have thrown a flag or player would have paid a fine after the game. So you telling me if Y-O-U think its a hard hit, it's illegal - maybe you should get a job on the field as a ref - thats what they get paid for and if no flag was thrown - then apparentaly it was NOT illegal.
Why is it that some people let crap flow out of their mouths that has no logic nor common sense? How does it go - "Heres your sign" just can't fix stupid.

So if Payton talks to someone associated with the NFL he is supposed to self report himself to God...aka Roger Goodell.

Asinine punishment by Roger Goodell...

If the owners don't get rid Godell, he will ruin the game of Pro Football.

If Goodell really cared about player safety, he would mandate the use of safer helmets that cut the shock of helmet to helmet contact virtually eliminating concussions

The NFL has been aware of such technology since the late 80s, yet Roger doesn't have what it takes to mandate the use of such a safety device...go figure.

Goodell is the worst commissioner the NFL has ever had.

All I can figure is that Payton must have made or completed a pass at Goodell's wife....

This is getting ridiculous and I can't believe the mainstream media is not starting to question whether the Commissar is starting to go a little bit overboard to ding Payton and the Saints. Of course, to maintain access most of the reporters have their noses so far up the NFL's hinter regions that they would NEVER question something like why did Goodell take draft choices away from the Saints and what does this have to do with Bounty Gate?? Those responsible (Williams, Payton, Loomis, Vitt) have already been penalized severely, so why hurt the future on-field performance of the team and its fan base who are still being asked to pay full price for tickets??

I've posted that question several times on here and twice in emails to Peter King but no one takes the bait; probably because there is no logic to it ! Want to take a stab at explaining that Mr. Florio? Or perhaps pose that question to someone in authority -- since you have access and we ticket-buying fans don't --but please be careful not to write anything that makes the Commissar too upset....

Goodell seems to be setting Payton up for failure here -- he can't even attend a college game??? Can he play Madden on his XBox???? This is really getting somewhat ridiculous.

Look, Payton obviously lied to the Commish and should be punished for it, but there is no logic or historical precedent for the excessiveness of even the nature of some of the Saints penalities. I've always heard the punishment should fit the crime, so I'm still waiting for someone to tell me what draft picks have to do with “Bounty Gate” anyway????

Williams set this up: he’s suspended. Payton, Loomis, Vitt let it go on: suspended. Why should the Commissioner hurt the on-field future of the team for past actions when he’s already penalized…very harshly…those who did the dirty deeds? There’s at least 35 other players on that team that weren’t involved, so why penalize them…or the fans (who still have to pay full price for their tickets) by taking away draft picks and potentially hurting the team’s future performance? Affecting the competitive balance of the league is WAY BEYOND what a Commissioner should be able to do.

It’s like a high school suspending your kid for bad behavior and trying to garnish the parent’s future wages.

Should a Commissioner have the right to affect a team’s future performance for past actions AFTER he’s already penalized those responsible? Doesn’t it reflect that his motives go beyond punishing those responsible and toward ensuring the team is not as successful moving forward? And isn’t that a rather dangerous precedent??

What about it Florio?? Haven't heard you, Peter King, Mort, John the ESPN Weasel chime in yet on what draft picks have to do with Bounties and whether the Commissioner is starting to show vindictiveness or overplaying his hand here? Of course, that would be real analysis and opinion, and just not the same "herd mentality" style of reporting that has been so evident throughout this story.

Right now, Drew Brees is not an NFL employee (he has no contract). Legally, he and Sean Payton can be sitting on the beach drinking beer right now and there's not a thing the NFL can do about it.

Then, you've got Bill Parcells denying interest in the coaching job. He is not an NFL employee. This is the man who has contradicted himself MULTIPLE times to the media, especially when he has talked about taking coaching jobs. If he wanted to have any involvement with the Saints, the best thing he could do was deny interest to the media and come in later after spending all summer talking with Sean.

In reality, you've probably got Drew Brees, Sean Payton, and Bill Parcells all talking things about before the season starts. Drew signs his contract as soon as he can, Parcells comes in as an "advisor" to get around the Rooney Rule. etc. <i>Right now, there is nothing stopping these men from talking. Payton is banned from the NFL, but Brees and Parcells are not NFL employees right now! </i>

Yea, this punishment is really "working" so far. At the very least, Brees and Payton can talk all they want, and I'd bet $ that Parcells shows up in some capacity in a few weeks.

Dude, you couldn't sound like a bigger "woe-is us-who-are-saints-fans-pu$$y" if u tried.

Here's the real:
As a Pats fan, at the time the Saints won it, I WAS ECSTATIC!!!!!
My worst fear was to to see Peyton Manning win another Superbowl and be only 1 Behind Brady

Especially since his little brother has a permanent Rhode Island sized Horseshoe stuck up his A$$ and has EKED by my Pats the last 2 times out.

Your view is decidedly provincial and narrow.

BTW, regardless of the Bounty stuff, I believe the Saints were the better team in the SB, how they got there was a bit suspect, primarily due to the official not officiating well. But its all water under the bridge now.
Hopefully that brightens your day

"Perhaps Parcells didn’t take the job so that he can serve as a go between. If Parcells is not employed by the Saints he could theoretically communicate with Payton and with Saints coaches"

Finally someone gets it! There is no way that the NFL and Dick-Tator Goodell could stop Payton from talking to Parcells and relaying messages.
Thanks for not having your head in the sand whoever posted it!

The Saints should be banned from playing this year, Payton and Loomis should've been suspended for 3 years (each year they ran the system), the Saints should lose 50 million in cap space, and 10 1st rd picks. The city of New Orleans should never be able to host another Super Bowl again, and every team the Saints play should be spotted 14 points before the game starts. Drew Brees should also be suspended b/c he knew about the scandal. Vilma should be banned from ever playing again, and every defensive player involved should be suspended for a min of 10 games. Greg Williams should also serve 3 life sentences for his role in the bounty system w/ no eligibility for parole. Tom Benson should lose the franchise b/c he told to put the entire system in place. Lol! Who dat?!? Geaux Saints!

Florio, an attorney no less, and many others believe that the guilt of Payton, Vilma, et al. has been conclusively proven on the basis of what is tantamount to just an indictment, an accusation, unpublished at that, by the Commissioner's one-man grand jury. There's been no trial, no public disclosure of the evidence, no confrontation of accusers. Yes, Williams and Payton have confessed, sort of, but it's unclear exactly what they have confessed to. Now Florio is taking it a step further and predicting Payton will violate his suspension. This is nuts. Payton et al. may be guilty of some, all, or even more than what they've been accused of, and posters are free to rant, vent, and prospectively accuse all they want, but shouldn't a journalist like Mr. Florio be a bit more circumspect?

Cue the Saints bashing, Payton hating, Brees criticizing. This board is full of so many haters its ridiculous. How many times can people go on and on in self-righteous indignation about things like “punishment” and “arrogance” when they support a commissioner who cares about one thing and one thing only…the bottom line. You’re all Goodell’s lackey, shelling out your hard earned money for overpriced popcorn, parking, and jerseys while he makes 15 million a year.

What I find most hilarious about these comments and the obsessive “thumbs up or thumbs down” clicking is that 90% of the people whining on this board would KILL to have Payton as their coach or Brees as their QB.

Please…give it a rest…you sound pathetic.
---------------------------------------------------------
Well, not nearly as pathetic as your sore loser comments after the 9er game! Remember ninerhaters dot com? That was a very pathetic display on your part, much worse than what anyone is posting on Saints threads...
