Out of the hundreds of responses here, why hasn’t anyone just said ” I am a fan, but that doesn’t always mean I GO to the games” my House has a giant HD LCD screen, with clean, convenient bathrooms, way better food, cool people all around, parking in my garage or driveway, a short walk to my seats, no PSL’s, I can flip between a half dozen other games, track Fantasy in real-time on broadband internet, etc., etc., etc.

First off, losing Peyton DOES sting, but that should NOT be a reason for fans to drop their season tickets. it’s not like they’re dumping Manning for Drew Stanton, they are going from Manning to (likely) Luck!!!! As for RG3, that’s them doing homework, but even if they get RG3, how’s that going to be bad??? i think both will be fine QBs, i like Luck better though and expect him to be great. Colt’s fans should be happy about the future. Another person posted something about Colts and patroits and said the Broncos and patroits should be better and agree that it will be great, but i think the Colts and patroits game could be entertaining, especially if Luck improves all year like i expect.

i’m a Redskins fan and support my team for RG3 (or Luck, “slim chance”). i think both teams will pull off upsets and likely win at least 5 or 6 games. the redskins have a tougher schedule from what i see though. in the end, i think both will be fine nfl players.

You know, I have always hated Tom Brady, (not literally) but thanks to jGava, I hope he rips Andrew Luck a new butthole. Give him a TRUE lesson of what it is, what it takes and what it’s like to be a top QB in the NFL like Peyton, Brady. Eli, Brees, (ugh), Rogers and Roethlisberger. Outside of that I have no Ill will towards the Colts. I just feel they gave a good man a crap deal ((Manning) which I believe will be BETTER for Manning and the Broncos but a bad way for the Colts. Defend Irsay all you want, but the odds of Luck taking the Colts back to the playoffs nearly EVERY year are few and slim. So be it. After two or three losing seasons I would like to see your posts then

Not because of just this story, but in general, sports better start leveling off the prices or there will be contraction, and it may be too late anyway.

We are oversaturated with overpriced sporting events in this country and as soon as the average idiot figures it out, the price gets too high or both we are in for some serious reorgs in sport.

Just an FYI

Manning gets an $18 million fully guaranteed base salary for 2012. Though he doesn’t get a signing bonus, he’ll receive $6 million of the $18 million base salary as an advance.

Then, if Manning is on the Broncos’ roster on the final day of the 2012 league year, his base salaries of $20 million in 2013 and $20 million in 2014 become fully guaranteed.

In other words, the Broncos can cut Manning at any point after Super Bowl XLVII and before the last day before the start of the 2013 league year and limit the contract to a one-year, $18 million investment. And so, just as the Colts faced a $28 million decision in March 2012, the Broncos will face a $40 million decision in March of 2013.

You’re right, bro. We should tell the whole story. Let’s do a little comparison between the Colts and the Ravens from 1996 (when the Browns/Ravens moved to Baltimore) til now…

Overall Records:
Colts: 155-101. Ravens: 140-115-1 (reg season only)
Winning Seasons:
Colts: 12. Ravens: 9.
Super Bowl Appearances:
Colts: 2. Ravens: 1

Anyone logically looking at these figures would conclude the Colts were the better team…on the field. Let’s look at off the field.

Stadium Capacity:
Colts: 63,000 (Lucas Oil). Ravens; 71,008 (M&T)

Consecutive Sellouts:
Colts: 79….since 2003. Ravens: 135…since 1996. (Yeah, in case you’re wondering, that’s EVERY HOME GAME in the history of the team).

So, the Colts are a better team on the field, but clearly not off of it. They have a shorter sellout streak in a much smaller stadium. This, for a team that had the greatest QB of the modern era. Don’t give me any crap about Indy being a small market, either. You don’t have five other teams within a five hour drive like we do.

How’s that for telling the whole story?

Richieburg—- I agree with you 100%. It’s not so much they let Manning go, it’s the disrespectful way in which they did it. The caliber of man that he is he would never had said he could play if he couldn’t. Its better for HIM IN the long run because Irsay would have never put any help around him. Denver has and will continue to put people around him. He (Manning) will absolutely embarrass Irsay the next three years while the Colts will SUCK WITH LUCK. Manning’s loyalty was rewarded with a shaft. Irsay is a DRUNK and will eventually DESTROY the Colts. FIve major teams fought for Manning They would not have offered the $$$$$$ if they didn’t see it in him. And as far as peytonsneck goes, Denver gave him his 100 mil. Some of these responses are way off base. The Colts have had more sellouts in a row than many teams could ever dream of. Saying the city is full of ‘bandwagon’ fans because 1 out of 10 ticket holders did not renew? That is simply exaggeration. They will all be sold anyway.
