I got my ribs broke catching a pass across the middle playing college ball. After the game a team mate told me when i got back to campus, he had spoke with other players of the other team and they told him they were going to put me out the game, at that time i had jets, i ran a 4’3 forty and modeled my game after Anthony Carter. A lot of other stuff, ruined my dream! But i have been victim to this mess! and it has no place in the game!

this bounty mess is for the birds, and whomever is a participant should be banded for “LIFE” from the game. it has no place in this game. Players have worked their entire life! from childhood to reach this stage and for some they only have one shot, or a couple years in the game! then you have cheap shot artist trying to end another man’s career, is just wrong and has no place in the game. Coach Peyton as much as i like him, deserves what ever comes his way, and his assistant should be banded for life!

Chiefs recievers do the exact same thing. Did the Skins have a “bounty” on Fitzpatrick? Don’t try this “he just kept playing on a torn ACL” He would have been limping for sure. It just blew out, and the block had nothing to do with it. Chiefs fans are whining because after a playoff run the year before they expected a huge opening day win over the hapless Bills, and got blown out by over 30 points at home. Two yrs earlier, the Bills beat them in KC by over 40. Its whining in the 1st degree. See Welkers knee explode without one person contacting him. Jason Peters just blew out his knee working out. It collapsed on him in a non-contact fashion. Johnson had nothing to do with it at all. Did Berry ever hurt an opposing player with a hit? How much did he earn on that “Bounty”? I’m betting he hurt someone along the way. That happens in Football. Man up, Nancy!

Saints deserved punishment for “lying” or covering up the existence of a “pay for performance” program, but there were not “bounties” payed to injure players, because NO PLAYERS WERE INJURED!

That’s like saying you planned to rob a bank, got there, said you wanted the money, but then left without taking any, problem is there was still intent to rob said bank, just like the players were paid to TRY and injure other players.

Do we need more proof that this whole bounty thing just plain stupid? I mean I’m still waiting on all of this evidence the NFL has. Where are all the guys they injured? The Saints are guilty of lying and that’s pretty much it the way I see it.
So the rules are if you lie to the commish then your suspended for 6 games to 1 year right?

This was a clear cheap shot, He cut blocked Eric Berry from behind, clearly away from the play. If he played for the Saints he clearly would have gotten paid for that play! It doesnt bother me that no flag was called or a foul was called. But This should clearly been a play that the rules committee should have looked at to protect the defensive players. The way the rules are written Johnson can do this to Berry but when they play this year and Johnson comes over the middle and Berry wants to but the wood on Johnson Berry risks a flag and a fine. Just doesnt seem right.

If you watch the play, FJ is running up the middle. Johnson blocks a player squarely downfield. Not involved at the time, but very likely to become involved. If this were hockey, it would have been player interference. But it’s not, and blocks like that are legal. How else would you suggest that Johnson cut block Eric Berry to prevent him from making a tackle? Run around front and pancake him?

If Johnson had played for the saints would people think differently about it?

Does anyone believe the Saints were the only team involved in bounties? I don’t think so.

Not saying Johnson did it but not saying he didn’t based on the character he’s shown on the field.

I love how you get this twisted. He said in the interview (which I actually listen to in entirety) that the bounty comment was a joke. He knows there was no bounty.

The comment that you quote from him was given when asked about if he thought the hit was dirty. He said he thought it was. If you are going to try and drub up negative feelings toward a player, please at least try and use his quotes in the correct context.

You could have made him out to be just as much of a crybaby by taking his answers to direct questions and turning it into a “Eric Berry Cries About Legal Hit” story.

Berry is angry because he got hurt and lost an entire season. Stevie Johnson was so messed up by it that even though he was taught to cut block downfield, he didn’t do it for the rest of the season and I believe him.
