Wow

I love how wrong most of you were. Looking through the last 7 weeks of the season RG3 is everything he was billed as and then some. I’m not saying the Redskins are a good team however he adds such an explosiveness to the offense that its hard to defend him. He can run, he can pass, he can lead a 2 min drive, he can put you into a position to win. He is good, to be great he has to be good for a while. Only time will tell if he is great. However for the time being he is the QB that Washington has needed for years.

I read that he had the lowest wonderlic score of al top QB prospects. You can be trained to sound polished but that won’t help you when you have to read defenses and make more than one read before you think about running. RGIII = FAIL

By the way, whatever his statistics might have been, it’s pretty foolish to say that Cam Newton had “the best rookie season in NFL history.”

I think Dan Marino might have something to say about that.

Newton is pretty amazing, but let’s not anoint him just yet. By the end of last season, he remained a very exciting player capable of great moments – but who also made way too many mental mistakes.

Newton proved that he belongs as an NFL starter; at this point that is all the credit I’m willing to give him. Let’s see him develop into a consistent, mature field general before we start any “greatest” talk.

I understand how someone can view him as a phony because he (to be fair) looks polished; disrespectful because he as a quarterback (Mr. Professional and blah blah blah) he mentioned the teams he visited with at the combine (thus possibly creating distractions for teams when they’re interviewed by the media), but “doesn’t treat anybody good”????

Florio is right! We can’t trust guys when their grammar sucks!

My moments of bad grammar come when I rush or my thumb hits the wrong key on my iPhone!!!!!

It would be stupid to deny the Redskins were a bad team last year. Records speak for themselves. However, just because a team is bad doesn’t mean it is bad at everything. Pass rushing is a prime misconception. For example: the supposedly godlike Giants defense sacked Rex “World’s greatest athlete” Grossman a total of eight times last year. The Redskins “god-awful” defense sacked Eli Manning ten times last year. Dallas, on the other hand, sacked Sexy Rexy six times, while Romo hit the turf only five times. Philly’s amazing pass rush brought The dynamic duo of Rex and Beck down only three times, while The Redskins sacked Vick four times.

Keep in mind Washington’s starting right Tackle and left guard were lost to injury for most of the season, and left tackle Trent Williams was suspended for the final four games of 2011. Still, if you were keeping count, Washington registered 19 sacks against NFC East opponents while East rivals brought Rex F. Grossman down only 16 times. NFC East defenses are nothing to sneeze at, it’s just important to realize DC isn’t as much the butt of the joke as everyone thinks. This will be the most competitive division in the NFL for years to come.

Sam Bradford has played two seasons. You really think he’s already failed. You lose all credibility right there. Watch the Rams in 2011 and you’ll see Sam had an atrocious offensive line. Really? Are You kidding me? Two years and somehow we know the player he was, is, and will ever be? Pure foolishness.

Yes, RG3 needs to improve the consistency of his accuracy. Yes ,he needs to gain a better pocket presence. Yes, he needs to learn a pro style offense, as many QBs do. No one has had one thing to say about RG3 the person until now? Draft day smoke screen. Some fool thinks some poor review is going to make the ‘Skins pick another player. Dummy. RG3 has things he needs to work on, but so does every prospect. With his work ethic and attitude he will do what it takes to improve. As for Cam Newton, his success in the NFL has nothing to do with RG3 and the comparisons need to stop. They never should have started. Cam Newton succeeded because he is the greatest athlete to ever play the game, and his off the field mistakes over shadowed his work ethic. RG3 is a different player, and won’t be the next Cam. He may beat the critics (the few that remain) like Cam, but his game shouldn’t resemble Cam’s all that much. That is, if he wants to stay healthy.

I truly believe this is because the colts are covering their tracks saying rg3 won’t work out for them. He didn’t work out for anyone. Now they are comforting their fans with these reports. Everyone who wants Griffin to succeed believes the scout is a clown, but the truth is that many “can’t miss” picks miss. Despite the media falling in love with Griffin, the fact is he sort of a one year wonder that came out of nowhere. There are questions about the guy’s game. Until he suits up, no one knows how he’ll play. And I would venture to guess that the vast majority of people on this site don’t know him personally enough to know whether or not he’s a creep or a prince. With everyone fawning all over him, he hasn’t had reason to be anything other than the nicest guy you met all month. See how he acts when he faces criticism, that will answer a lot.

This guy is is a great athlete, but he is even smarter then all get out. Head him on The Jim Rome Show and he blew me away. He is a guy I would go to war for. No kidding. Impressive. Born to lead.

Many people compare RGIII to Vick. Yet the better comparsion is RGIII to Steve Young. The bottom line is that this QB from Baylor is a gigantic improvement over any QB the Washington team has had for three decades. The opinions of armchair quarterbacks is just alot of do-do.

RG3 looks the part, but he does have a couple of things you can’t ignore – 1) he does not pass the 26-27-60 test, as he reportedly only got a 24 on his wonderlic. He’s also from the Big 12, a conference that has never produced a Qb who won a playoff game in the NFL in its almost 2 decade existance.

When one can make a case for Sage Rosenfels being one of the top 3 NFL QB’s produced by the conference, its an issue that can’t just be simply written off.

Here’s the deal: Robert Griffin III will either suck, or he won’t. Same can be said about all 250+ other guys getting drafted next week.
