APMike Garafolo of the Newark Star-Ledger reports that the Giants have signed long snapper Zak DeOssie to a three-year, $3.45 million contract extension, with $900,000 in guaranteed money.
The deal locks up DeOssie through the 2015 season. He will receive base salaries of $700,000 (2012), $824,000 (2013), $925,000 (2014), and $975,000 (2015) over the life of the contract, according to NFLPA numbers.
DeOssie turns 28 in May. He has been the Giants’ deep snapper for the past five seasons, and also recorded 10 tackles last year.

Zak listened well to his dad Steve, who also held the LB/LS position for the Giants. Steve reportedly told his son if he learns to long-snap and excel at it, he’ll always have a job in the NFL.
Zak also deservedly wears the “C” for special teams, and was alongside Eli and Justin when they brought out the Lombardi at the MetLife Stadium post-SB party.
Solid ST player. Always one of the first players downfield on kicks and punts and rarely makes a bad snap.
Solid extension which probably created a bit more cap space for the Giants too.
Oh, thank God! Now I can sleep at night!
Hey Florio, nice giving props to Garafolo but he at least gave them to the group that figured it out first. The men and women from BBI(Big Blue Interactive)
Solid move. One of the guys you rarely hear about, but one of the reasons we’ve taken 2 of the last 5 under the radar.
No he isn’t related to Ted De(be)ossie “the Million Dollar Man” and Jonathan Goff is not related to Virgil (the wingman)
There isn’t a Giant fan on this site that will scoff at this. Music to my ears.
As great a career Trey Junkin had…need I say more?
I too rejoice at this news. No one wants to worry about snaps in crunch time.
