I would imagine that a great many of today’s NFL players are HGH and steroids usres. The average weight of the Pittsburg Steelers offensive line in the early 1970′s was 255 lbs. Only 255 lbs! They wouldn’t be able to move the defensive lines of most big universities of today. It can’t all be better nutrition and weight training.

I would expect the NFL to know this. There are plenty of large specimens in the general population that are not professional athletes. I trust that fair parameters will eventually be established just in time for the transgressors’ blood and tissue to be clear of HGH.

The NFL is trying to sell an image that their players are “clean.”

If the NFL was clean from HGH and steroids, linemen’s weight would be 75-100 pounds lighter than they are now.

This is all such a crock of bull. The league’s offensive linemen (who weigh 60 pounds per player more than they did in the 80′s) all use HGH and want to use HGH (to hell with the health risk), their coaches want them to use HGH, their owners want them to use HGH, and the league doesn’t want to have it come out that they all have been using HGH. It’s all a bunch of dancing around to appease “Congress,” and everyone’s goal is to allow those players to keep using HGH forever and ever, amen.

It’s so obvious, it is ridiculous. We all know what’s going on, guys. Stop pretending otherwise.

Another delaying tactic by the NFLPA. The normal ranges for HGH levels for those of varying age has been established for a long time. When the new study is complete, the union will find something about the results to contest and further delay testing.

I can’t believe how stubbornly stupid the players union is. If they don’t come up with a reasonable solution fast, then congress is salivating to infringe on the private sector. We all know how successful the government is at governing anything.

Wake up union!!! Then again maybe that’s exactly what the union wants…to muddy the waters, then nothing will get done and the cheating will be worse than ever.

I guess the NFL should have been more specific before both sides signed the agreement…for example: “within 6 months, we will begin HGH testing.” The way things currently stand, it looks like the player’s association plans on dragging things out as long as possible. It makes a mockery of testing if NFL players are used as a baseline of “normal numbers.” It doesn’t take rocket science to figure out this isn’t a good idea. If alot of players are currently using HGH, the numbers will be elevated…therefore allowing players to continue cheating.
