Jim Irsay is pulling an Oprah.
Apparently bored with giving away relatively small cash prizes and/or signed footballs, Irsay has taken it up a notch. Irsay said this morning on Twitter that he’ll be giving away a Toyota.
The bad news is that only season-ticket holders are eligible. And while details are scant at this point, there’s a Willie Wonka quality to the contest. There will be 10 footballs signed by the No. 1 overall pick. One will also have the signature of “Reggie” (Wayne, we assume), and whoever gets that one will get the car.
So if anyone currently is debating whether to buy Colts season tickets this week, the “pros” column now has on the list “possible free Toyota.”
Of course, the “cons” column continues to include “team currently stinks, and may stink indefinitely into the future.”
