Robert Ayers is actually developing into a very solid player. He’s a natural 4-3 end, he should never have been moved to linebacker. Just another McDaniels blunder. Ayers is never going to be a top pass rusher, but he’s a hoss setting the edge in the run game, and has flashed some ability to be disruptive as an interior rusher on third downs. Not a star, but he’s a quality three-down lineman with the versatility to play inside or out, and he still has developmental upside. Let him mature another year back at his proper position, more people will see what I’m talking about.
