It is conceivable the vikings may be an improved team this year. Ponder has 2nd year under his belt. Improved Oline play with Kali and Johnson move to guard. upgrade at wide receiver with Simpson and Carr at corner. Cook and Winfield back in lineup. TE Rudolph 2nd year under his belt and new receiving TE Carlson added. Dline play was okay last year but still need DT upgraded as well as safety. If team drafts wisely and RBs heal Vikes could hit 500. Frasier is still developing as a head coach. To expect much more in a division that has improved dramatically in the last few years would be unrealistic, but the team appears to be making the effort.

I think it is a good pick up. It costs em nearly nothing for a person who has a chip on their shoulder to prove himself in redemoption.

On the other side of things, some of the retarded comments coming from packer fans should be pitied. Their hero St Brett put on the enemy colors a couple years ago and those fools are still fuming about it. Maybe they will let this go in say 15-20 years…..

Couple quick notes. A lot of these 1 year deals are “prove yourself” contracts.

Also, Vikings lost most of their games under 7 points, and dont forget if it wasnt for the huge collapse’s in the first 3 weeks, they could have started 3-0. their record did not tell the whole story. Now im sure some idiots will have something stupid to say, but those are facts.

Bengals fan here, good luck Vikings… Dude can jump for days, and has great speed, but he is as dumb as they come. I mean the guy had a pound of weed shipped to his house, and tried to blame it on his girlfriend… He has been here for 4 years and every year i hear the same thing, he is still learning the playbook. Long time Bengals fan here…

Scoop on Simpson: Athletic as can be, can jump out of the gym, runs 4.3 or so..does flips..etc.

Problems: can’t concentrate, can’t take hits, pressure situations get to him badly, drops the ball too much both during and after the catch. Not very smart, not a professional…never acts like he has been there!

When he was drafted in the second round it was stated that he was a work in progress..he still is. He may mature and work out for the Vikings, hopefully for them he does. However, I wouldn’t bet on it. I typically want to see my team reap the benefits of getting a draft pick up to speed, but in this case I’m happy to see him go. Honestly, when he was targeted it was nerve wracking watching him.

Why negative on the Bengals? If this was another team’s free agent and the Bengals signed him, they would get crucified alone, not the other team. The Bengals didn’t re-sign him, ok? The Bengals did what I think you are referring to as the “respectable” thing.

He is a decent player with well above average athleticism who has serious lapses in concentration. If he pays attention he has good potential. Would have been nice to have him back with the Bengals, but not as a #2.
