Sinorice Moss heads to Canada

Later this week there are going to be a lot of glowing things said about new members of the 32 NFL teams and we certainly wish all those drafted nothing but the best in their professional careers.

We know that things aren’t going to work out for everyone picked, however, and the latest reminder of that is the news that Sinorice Moss, the 44th pick of the 2006 NFL Draft, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Thursday. Moss did not play in the NFL last season after the Eagles cut him at the end of training camp.

He spent five disappointing years with the Giants before heading to his brief spell with the Eagles. Moss played in just 37 games, catching 37 passes and three touchdowns while steadily losing playing time to other members of the wide receiving corps. That’s clearly less than the Giants expected to get from a second-round pick, although the team’s two Super Bowl wins since making that selection are a sign that you can pick the occasional bust and survive.

Moss isn’t the only recognizable name on the Roughriders roster. Colt Brennan and J.T. O’Sullivan are both quarterbacks in Saskatchewan and former Colts receiver Taj Smith is also on the team.
