I thought the differences between Zeitler and DeCastro were absolutely evident when they played their respective highlight reels after the picks were made. Zeitler is a mauler and can’t adjust nearly as well when he pulls. He also doesn’t have the fluid feet DeCastro does in pass blocking.

It’s nice to see Cincy relevent again in the AFC North, but I have to say a huge “Thank You” for dropping DeCastro into our laps! The best thing about DeCastro is that he has one mean and nasty streak! LOVE IT!!!

Zeitler is a mauler who will do work in cincy. Being a wisky native and pack fan for life, my (favorite) uncle is a huge cincy (bungels) fan.

Awesome pick. Not sexy, but much like joe thomas, this is a pick where you take and don’t have to worry about for the next 10 yrs. Can play center too!

Was the third round pick really worth letting decastro fall to a division rival? I just remember all too well the dontay moch, Brandon ghee and chase Coffman picks. I like zietler but have no faith in mikey boy using the extra pick

They took a gamble trading back and hoped DeCastro would still slide to them.

They went bust and now they’ll have to face him twice a year after gift wrapping him for the Steelers.

Not to talk back to a fellow Bengal fan, but our d line is not that weak in my opinion, yes we need SOME help there, but Atkins and Dunlap aren’t to be f***ed with. Peko is slightly above average, I feel one solid second or third rounder (hopefully making up for passing on DeCastro) will put us is great position

You’d have to surmise Paul Alexander must have evaluated this guy over both DeCastro & Glenn (who seemed the more Alexanderish of those 2).

Being in the 1st round here says to me the OL coach is totally owning this pick … so Marvin luuuuvs Upshaw was all just some big smokescreen?

Skipping Decatro (who Pitt deemed worthy) and going for Zeitler is quite a risk. A risk mostly for the Bengal’s fan’s faith in Alexander. If this is his next miss the fans will chant for his firing. Quite a good pick for Pitt. You couldn’t have rubbed our noses in it more.

He is a little weaker pass blocking than DeCastro, but a fantastic run blocker. I was actually looking at Glenn with that pick, but he slid all the way out of the first.

Im very happy with the 1st round.. Very unlike PBJR to not go flashy in the 1st.. The past 2 or 3 drafts have been well done..

We fill 2 needs tonight and pick up some picks..

Good pick, but I sure hope the 3rd round pick (93 overall) we got from new england along with zeitler, combine to be a better addition to the team than decastro alone. I highly doubt this will happen, but we shall see. Moving down usually doesn’t hurt, and we may again have our first 2 picks be rookie pro bowlers, and even the slight possibility of them both going, such as green and dalton did this year. Only time will tell, I just hope this isn’t the move down similar to chris perry, when we passed on steven jackson.
