Byron Leftwich goes back to Steelers

There’s bigger news about to be made in New York City, but we know where Byron Leftwich will be playing next season.

It’s the same place he’s been playing for two of the last three seasons. Leftwich told Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he has agreed to terms on a contract with the Steelers. He’ll join Charlie Batch as backups to Ben Roethlisberger.

There was reportedly some interest in Leftwich from the Colts. Indy offensive coordinator Bruce Arians was previously the offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh and was thought to want Leftwich to help Andrew Luck make the transition to the NFL. Either that interest was overblown or Leftwich preferred to stay in familiar surroundings for another year.

Either way, the Steelers have three of last year’s quarterbacks back with the team.

…the same could be said about you too sixburghrules. lol

Try “you’re” instead of “your” next time; or at least don’t live in a glass house.

  2. Once again, why bother bringing back a QB you won’t start when you need to? They kept everyone they had last year on the sidelines and let Ben start when he CLEARLY had no business doing so. One can only assume it was because they had zero confidence in their backup QB’s. I don’t understand why you’d bother keeping any of them on the roster for this coming season.
