The past few months or so I've really started to like Gilmore and wanted the Lions to get him. Originally I thought he'd make it to 23 now there's talk the Jags or Bills land him. I don't want to give up what it would take to move that high up in the draft.

Let the draft come to us and take BPA at our pick or maybe even trade down.

I think moving up to get into the top ten would be too expensive for the Lions ... watch how the board is falling and if a guy like Kirpatrick is still there at 18 then think about it. Otherwise I'd like to see the Lions just stay at 23 and take the best player still on the board.

"lionfreq says:

Lions should trade Cliff Avril (free up $10 million in cap space) and this years 1st to trade up with Tampa and get Claibourne. They have great young DE’s in Lawrence Jackson and Willie Young. They can grab another DE in 2nd or 3rd round to develop. The freed up cap space will allow them to sign Atogwe."

We should trade Brandon Inge for Pujols too...

it's going to take Avril, this years first AND next year's first to get in the conversation to get a top 5 pick. Sorry, you're crazy.

Also, can we avoid "multiple exclamation point guy". I know you think your opinion is the only one that matters and that what you're saying is truly exciting!!!!!!, but, alas, it's not. It just comes across as you shouting an wetting yourself as you tell us your pipe dreams.

If Gilmore or Kirkpatrick are available in the high teens, they trade up. If not, they stand pat or trade down to get Jenkins. They definitely address the secondary first in this draft though.

Hey Lions, FINALLY after what 17 straight top 3 picks, you have to look at trading UP to get a top flight player? Who thought the day would ever come?

WOW, someone either exaggerates highly or they believe garbage BS and have no clue at all true statistics...my guess is the latter

Football is first and foremost a business. I don't think KC or Detroit would pass on a potentially good deal for both because Gunther Cunningham tampered with players or because Jamil Charles blew out his knee trying to avoid the Lions mascot on the sideline. If that were the case no one ever would have made a trade with the Raiders when Al Davis was alive

@thereisfootballwestofjersey... A couple of guys making bone headed moves over the course of a single season does NOT define a teams culture. You're not being funny OR clever.

Second, the Lions cannot afford to trade up!! Schwartz/Mayhew had their best draft in the only one where they stayed put in the high rounds ('09) and let their picks come to them. Trust in your scouts, take whoever offers the most value when #23 is up!

I say if we don't land a trade for Claiborne, Gilmore, or Barron we just stay put grab OL best avail and then go hard after Boykins at CB in the 2 nd!!! This kid will turn out to b one of the better corners in this draft after a few years!! Don't believe me go watch his tape he may not b the tallest CB but plays BIG and makes big plays great tackler and runs back punts pretty well kinda reminds me of a low budget pat peterson. But no matter what happens I'll b right there watching 2 nite Go Lions!!!!

I know the Lions want Barron. Think they will try to move up around 10-13 to get him. However, if the price is too high then they will probably focus on trying to move up for Kirkpatrick around 16-18. Should be interesting.

You can't trade a player that is not under contract. Avril would have to sign his franchise tender or negotiate a new deal in order to be traded. I dont see that happening today.

In no way should the Lions trade up. If anything, trade down.

Scenario #1
1. Cordy Glenn (OG/T, UGA)
2. Josh Robinson (CB, UCF)
3. Josh Norman (CB, Coastal Carolina)
4. David Molk (C, UofM)
5. Travis Lewis (OLB, Oklahoma)
7a. Chris Rainey (RB/KR, UF)
7b. Kellen Moore (QB, Boise State)

Scenario #2 - PREFERRED.
Trade #23 and #117 with STL (Hoping they're wanting Brockers/Worthy); receive #33 and #65.

2a. Janoris Jenkins (CB, N. Alabama)
2b. Kelechi Osemele (G/OT, Iowa St)
3a. Lamar Miller (RB, Miami)
3b. Philip Blake (C, Baylor)
5. Travis Lewis (OLB, Oklahoma)
7a. Jordan White (WR, WMU)
7b. Kellen Moore (QB, Boise State)
