I’d take that for four years. I mean, it’d be a struggle but with food stamps and public assistance I could get by at /4-25 years old. Times are tuff man.

If that’s true, first overall pick Andrew Luck would wind up making a little bit more than the $22 million over four years that Cam Newton signed for with Carolina last season.

By far and away the best aspect of the new CBA is the rookie wage scale. Alex Smith sucked down $24 million guaranteed in 2005, JaMinkus sucked down $32 million guaranteed in 2007. Complete joke. Glad it is going to the veterans now (somewhat at least).

Now at least a team like Carolina that got the first pick last year isn’t being punished for it by having to sign him to a mega contract bigger than most well established QBs get. They have to earn that mega contract now.

Best thing NFL did was put a rookie wage scale in like the NBA.
Players that proved nothing with long holdouts just hurt the team, the fans and the player themselves since they would be behind on the playbook and conditioning.
