Almost starting to sound like a smokescreen to cover the guy we truly covet. I would love to see the Steelers take a guard because Legursky is too small to be a permanent starter. Regardless, I trust in Colbert, Tomlin, and the other decision makers so I will be on board with whoever we take. Ravens won’t move up. And it would be a shame if the Steelers fail to address their offensive line woes, for yet another year.

I wouldn’t worry about the Ravens. It’s the Bengals who are up-and-coming.

For anyone who actually is misled to believe that @mmlotus2012 knows something, the lie is apparent in the statement that Colbert wants to package the two 7th round compensatory picks to trade for a late 3rd rounder. Compensatory picks can’t be traded! I expect Colbert knows that, whereas a doofus like @mmlotus does not.

Anyway, Hightower is the only guy I want for the Ravens in 1st round…even if we have to trade up to get him. Otherwise I hope we trade out of the round & get more 3 rd rounders like Yanda & Webb to continue to sweep the Steelers on an annual basis!!!

That said – hope everyone has a great time with he Draft tonight & this weekend. Can’t wait for the games to begin!!!

I for one do not want the Steelers to take him. Farrior and Gay were the two glaring weaknesses on the D. They need a faster ILB to stick with TEs and be able to go sideline to sideline. I’d love to see them get NC’s Brown in the 2nd Round to address ILB. This team has got to address the O line first and foremost.

WHY DOES EVERY STEELER FAN WANT THIS MAN?!?! Think about it…

Why were the Steelers not successful (by Pittsburgh standards) last year? Because Ben was injured. Why was Ben injured? Because the O-line was horrendous.

Where were the Steelers strong last year and every year? Defense. What is the strongest piece of the Steelers defense? Linebacking corps.

Now, who do you want more:

1) stud, potentially franchise offensive lineman to keep Ben upright

2) above average 3-4 ILB prospect to pair with a LB corps that already includes pro-bowlers James Harrison, Lamarr Woodley, and Lawrence Timmons

C’MON MAN!!!

This just in…the Baltimore Ravens have traded their 1st round pick to move up one spot in front of the Pittsburgh Steelers to draft Dont’a Hightower immediately after reading this article. Ray Lewis could not be reached for comment after reports of him hiding behind a tree holding a shank in his hand on the same golf course as Big Ben were grossly overstated and exaggerated.

Of course there are all these “experts” having Hightower going between 10 and 15. Steelers would not spend the a 2nd round pick+ to get up there. If he fell past 20 that might be a different story.

Only the uninformed mock Hightower to the Steelers…

They have not drafted a true inside linebacker in the 1st round during the Super Bowl era. I won’t count Timmons as a true ILB, but even if you insist, that’s 1.

Add to that the belief Hightower is a 2 down LB, it’s not happening.

I still hope they can get an OL with the top pick, but Hightower seems like a great prospect. If they take Hightower. maybe they pick up a quality lineman in the second or third round. Over the years, I have learned to trust the Steelers organization to make good draft choices overall. Yes there have been busts, but some of their drafts have been incredible.
