Devon Still gets out of the green room

Devon Still has probably seen quite enough of the Radio City Music Hall green room to last a lifetime.

He won’t have to look at it any longer. The Bengals ended Still’s fall through the draft by making him the 53rd overall pick of the draft. That ends one awkward situation, but it might create another one. Still came home from the hospital as a baby wearing a Steelers jersey, which could make things uncomfortable now that he plays on another AFC North team.

Still’s talent was talked about throughout his college career, but it never turned into on-field results until the 2011 season when he wound up as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. He had some injury problems early and never was a consistent part of the Nittany Lions front until he was a senior. But he was really, really good as a senior and he goes to a Bengals team that is looking to fill some spots in their defensive line rotation after losing Frostee Rucker and Jonathan Fanene.

If Still was a late bloomer, the Bengals could well have wound up with a steal at this point in the second round.
