Getty ImagesThe green room at Radio City Music Hall officially is empty.
With the final pick in the second round of the 2012 draft (63rd overall, given the bounty sanctions against the Saints), the Giants have beefed up their receiving corps by selecting receiver Rueben Randle.
Randle was the last of 26 players invited to the draft to be selected.
He joins a depth chart that has a need for his services, given the departure of Mario Manningham via free agency. He’s the third LSU player to be taken in the first two rounds.

Hes gonna be better than manningham, he doesn’t drop every other pass.
Almost fell to the Vikings…damn.
Just a tad lower than the 29 PFT had him going in their last mock.
The Giants are doing good sitting at the end of each round picking up the best player left, i’m glad my Bucs moved up to take Doug Martin before he feel to them.
Love this pick. Congrats Randle, welcome to NY
Is this guy any good?
I think it’s safe to say the “Green Room” is the term used in Round 1, however “Blue Room” is more appropriate in Round 2.
In Reese we trust!! Great pick goooo g-men
Well, the truth is that Manningham and Cruz both dropped a TON of passes while also making some high-light reals. They’re both very good receivers, by I respect the Giants for not overpaying on the receiver level. They seem to pretty wiley about building teams in the new era.
Manningham made his name by facing the worst (number 3) corner on each team while coaches like Bellicek shut down Nix and Cruz. He’ll see a different set of circumstances in San Francisco and if he rises to the occasion the God bless him. I’ve got no problem with the young man.

Obviously not a Giants fan. It’s N-I-C-K-S (not “Nix”).
Giants never wanted Marten, Wilson was the second player on their board behind Richardson. Marten was not being considered by the Giants at 32.
Moneywise, of course, you want to go early. But if you’ve gotta slide … how nice to slide to the world champs! I always feel for the big talents who wind up with terrible teams. This guy wound up in a good place.

Kudos to randle lsu ya dig

Not so much. Randle shouldn’t have dropped to pick 63, this pick had nothing to do with Reese, the Giants just got very lucky. Although I’ve hated the Giants since before I could walk, it’s impossible to deny that Jerry Reese is a very good GM. That being said, give credit when and where credit is due. This wasn’t amazing Draft management by Reese it was a 6’4″ play-making present dropped right into his lap. If you want to praise Reese, give him a pat on the back for successes like Victor Cruz, Manningham in the fourth round, and Jason Pierre-Paul. Don’t anoint him the greatest GM of all time for having Amukamara, Austin, and Randle gift-wrapped and left on his doorstep.
Like I’ve said a ton on here…when Coughlin gets a wr, he knows what he’s doing…when he lets them leave…he knows what he’s doing. I wish he HAD gotten fired a couple years back because I would have loved it if he could have come to the Pats and helped develop WRs for them. Heaven knows, they can’t do it. Only 2 of BB’s drafted ones were ever good for them: Branch & Givens.
26 players is way to many..10 players seems about right imo.
Didn’t nicks go for something like 7 for 100 in the superbowl, that’s shutting him down? So far nice job by Reese and the giants(I hope) you never know how there gonna turn out
NYG = pure class
I’m glad he fell. Apparently most teams need defense or OL help and not WR. Thank you God for RR.

Given the drama of this off-season, you think a couple of defenders faking injury to stop the clock make the Giants the “best cheaters in the league”? Dude, are you for real? That “very lucky average team” has won two Super Bowls in five years. Get a grip. (And no, I’m not a Giants fan.)
