The Jaguars are making room for Justin Blackmon, the rest of their draft picks and any undrafted free agents they wind up signing.

The team announced Friday that they have waived six players. The most notable name in the group is running back Deji Karim, who spent last season as the main backup for Maurice Jones-Drew.

Karim got the job when Rashad Jennings went down for the season, but he didn’t do all that much with it. He ran 63 times for 160 yards and wound up as a healthy scratch several times in the final month of the season. Karim had slightly more luck as a kickoff returner, averaging 24.7 yards per return over his two years with the team. Karim was a sixth-round pick in 2010.

The other players let go on Friday were linebacker JoJo Dickson, linebacker Stephen Franklin, linebacker Jammie Kirlew, defensive back Trumaine McBride and kicker Sam Swank.
