“I don’t know. At this point it’s nothing that I need to think about,” McNabb said, via the Daily Times. “Really, it’s about Brian. When I heard that he officially retired, I called him and reached out to him and told him how much of an honor it was for me even to play with him. We started back together in ’99. That continued to build and we have a brotherhood to this point. It’s not about me.”
McNabb said a couple of months ago that he just wants an opportunity to compete for a job in some team’s training camp, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely that any team will give him that opportunity. After three teams — the Eagles, Redskins and Vikings — have given up on McNabb, it seems unlikely that a fourth will give McNabb a chance. But McNabb isn’t ready to say he’s done yet.
“I’m not here to announce anything,” McNabb said. “In due time, notice will be out there about what my plans are.”
