NBC Sports leads the way with nine Emmy wins

Looking back at my story list from Tuesday, there’s one fairly significant item (at least as it relates to my ongoing employment) that I forgot to mention.

NBC Sports emerged from Monday’s Sports Emmys with nine trophies, six of which came from the network’s NFL coverage.

Sunday Night Football won its fourth consecutive outstanding live sports series Emmy.  Also, NBC’s Wild Card Saturday doubleheader won for playoff coverage, and the SNF open won for outstanding production design/art direction.  Other winners were event analyst Chris Collinsworth, studio host Bob Costas, and reporter Michelle Tafoya.

Hopefully my paycheck will now show up before the ’68 VW van gets repossessed.

They all get together and give themselves awards. “Hey you’re great” … “Well you’re great too” … “Wow, guess we’re both great”. *slap tickle*

The ’68 VW van … or as Florio told Deadspin’s Drew Magary, “a s***ty hand-me-down Volkswagen.”

No one cares about these dumb ass awards anyway.

Chris Collinsworth winning anything means these awards are pointless.
