By its own common legal definition NBC and its affiliates(along with DISNEY, ABC ,CBS, FOX etc etc ) are all 'broadcast partners'. In other words during broadcasts, during game week, and during the off season across these respective platforms they 'sell soap' at consistently high ad rate based on the popularity of the game of NFL Football.

So I don't believe it is an unfair assertion to ponder whether a media that eats and deciminates dividends to shareholders based on the popularity of the NFL is neutered in its journalistic veracity to completely investigate the hand that feeds.

Since the only evidence the NFL has provided is:

4. In each of the 2009-2011 seasons, the Saints were one of the top five teams in the league in roughing the passer penalties. In 2009 and 2011, the Saints were also in the top five teams in unnecessary roughness penalties; in 2010, the Saints ranked sixth in the category. In the January 16, 2010 divisional playoff game against the Arizona Cardinals, Saints defensive players were assessed $15,000 in fines for fouls committed against opposing players. The following week, in the NFC Championship Game against the Minnesota Vikings, Saints defensive players were assessed $30,000 in fines for four separate illegal hits, several of which were directed against quarterback Brett Favre.

(BTW the statements above are mostly false)

I'm not sure how this falls in off the field actions.

By the way? Nobody I'n the publics eye knows what evidence they have shown to those involved. Payton and company. But evidently it was enough to make the drop their head, confess, turn around and with tail tucked tightly between their cheeks they walked away and SHUT UP. Pretty good indication that there was MORE than they care to discuss placed before them. I'll lay odds that none of them want the cat out of the box I dont like Goodell, but he's doing what's I'n the best interest of the NFL, not the Saints. He's got 31 other teams to protect, as well as the NFL shield. Any corporate head can understand what he's doing and the probability of why. The less the press knows, the better. They're like bottom feeders. Always stirring up the mud anywhere they can. If the players involved don't like his decision, let THEM give the evidence to the press. Why hasn't Payton or Loomis done that yet? Uh, oh, ok, never mind. Later

Sorry JOKENDAV, but that's EXACTLY WHAT the NFLPA AND PLAYERS APPROVED I'n their latest CBA agreement. Dumb? Yes. But it's yheir own dam fault. They agreed to it. These guys got degrees and are making elementary school mistakes In negotiations. They signed away their rights. Not you and I , but they yhemselves and their representatives. Look at the $$$ deal they made on the network television proceeds. I know concussions have hit the NFL hard but have they knocked them all stupid? Sure seems like it and then they whine about what they AGREED to. Their own fault. They could have held out for larger percentages, insurances, committes, player rep panels, etc. They're idiots. Yes, Goodell is a one man Ruler, but they voted and agreed to let it be that way. Instead of crying, put that energy toward making real changes next time.

If you ever have to move, or refinance, you’ll have to provide the required debt ratios to do so. Usually a steep request for you SE type with all the NINA and SI loans a thing of the past. But you probably already know that by now.

I won't give you free financial advice for your Lemonade Stand, but there are some very clever and legal ways to bury income that don't involve loans. Still calling on a natural disaster to kill more people isn't exactly Minnesota Nice.

Inbred comments are soooo funny. Especially coming from someone who is the byproduct of a same sex copulation between a Raiders and Eagles fan after a six month drug an alcohol binge while hanging out at Occupy Oakland.

It is most likely to the BENEFIT of players AND the NFL that the witheld evidence be kept I’n house.

Why should the Saints care a lick about the benefit of the NFL? The league office has totally thrown them under the bus. Why should they give a crap about saving the reputation of a scumbag like Roger Goodell?

Why should the Saints care a lick about the benefit of the NFL? The league office has totally thrown them under the bus. Why should they give a crap about saving the reputation of a scumbag like Roger Goodell?

How inbred are you lol? When was the last court case that was EVER decided by family members looking at the evidence? God damn Katrina, you left some dumb asses behind.

Thanks for proving you're so dense you don't even understand basic justice.

Tell you want, when you are ready to show some intelligence and talk about this in a reasonable and intelligent manner, I'll be happy to indulge you.

Until then, you're welcome to go around throwing out a bunch of meaningless insults and trivial garbage and making yourself look like a total clown.

Yet you don’t complain that your team put Saints fans and the league in this position? Interesting…

-----------------------------------------------------------------
It is not the Saints fault that they are being scapegoated for the league's public image problem that's being caused by a zillion and one lawsuits.

It is not the Saints fault that Roger Goodell actively attempted to cover up evidence that concussion and brain injury are common in the NFL.

It is not the Saints fault that Roger Goodell stood up and TESTIFIED BEFORE THE FREAKING U.S. CONGRESS that there was no connection between head injuries and playing in the NFL.

It is not the Saints fault that Roger Goodell burned the Spygate evidence.

It is not the Saints fault that Roger Goodell has been abusive of his power since the minute he took office.

And it is not the Saints fault that Roger Goodell has denied to produce evidence of their supposed wrongdoing, OPENLY VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT SIGNED JUST LAST YEAR.

Are the Saints truly the evildoers the NFL wants us to believe, or are they simply a convenient scapegoat, symptomatic of a much larger league-wide problem?

Roger Goodell's pattern of behavior suggests the latter.

It is most likely to the BENEFIT of players AND the NFL that the witheld evidence be kept I’n house. It’s a private enterprise, not a criminal law case. It’s NOT legally required to be made public and ALL players have signed an autograph to the by-laws of said enterprise. You think its dirty water now, turn it over to the press and you’ll be making MUD PIES it’ll get so dirty. The Saints screwed up just like the Patriots did and now they gotta pay the fiddler. N.o. Fans, players, coaches, shut up and deal with it. Be glad it wasn’t a heckofalot
WORSE. Crybabies, seriously, full grown, whiny a$$Ed male CRYBABIES. I wish you could just see yourselves and your united whiney effort. You got busted, you have a right to remain silent– DO IT .
-----------------------------------------------------------

It may not be a criminal case but it sure is a civil case. Taking livelyhood away without showing evidence and defamation for the same reason. This now dose'nt have to be settled in Godells office. Even CBA cannot stop a civil suit. The laws are for everyone, not everyone but the NFL. I myself believe if you let the union run your case like Payton and Loomis, you get what you get. Common sense would say you don't appeal to the same guy that set the punishment. I mean really?

Only problem with this is that calling this ” a bounty program where players were paid for injuring other players” is that apparently no one ever got paid as the cart offs and injuries were not seen on TV during games. Better way to put it would be a bounty program where players WOULD BE paid for injuring other players if they ever did.
Regardless, punishments have been handed out. About what I expected.

As a saints fan I can understand everybodys animosity towards the saints to the fullest. Take a step back and look at this situation through a persons eyes and not a fan of another team.
More than one player has stated that this is all a bunch of bull about bounties. This bounty program was taken out of context and even if Hargrove gave a statement to the nfl that he was a part of bounties who's to say that he wasn't forced to do it either. You can't say things like that don't happen. The penalties aren't as bad as they could have been for our organization. Why would players all across the league come to the defense of saints players who are accused of trying to injure them? I personally don't think they don't believe any of this crap either that is being spewed out of goodells mouth. If the saints were to be the team to put an end to the corruption that is the nfl I would be even more proud of our franchise.
