OK…in a sense he’s right, the bigger you are the more weight to push around. Of course, there’s a huge difference between muscle weight and chocolate milkshakes weight. Muscle weight carries itself. Chocolate milkshakes weight is more bulk you have to carry on your own, meaning you have less strength left to fight back.

"If McKinnie keeps working and gets himself down to 350, he’s still talented enough to be one of the best left tackles in the NFL."

Going to have to respectfully disagree with this. McKinnie could not possibly become one of the best tackles in the NFL due to his inability to handle speed rushers. I'd say his run blocking is about average, and he's probably above average handling power DEs.

I was the biggest proponent of the Ravens NOT signing McKinnie last year, but Gaither's dumb ass forced their hand, and 75% of the time, McKinnie actually played better than I could have ever guessed. Thankfully, this is the last. Year of his contract and hopefully the Ravens get another plan in place ASAP. As others have said, I'd like to see him at less than 350, but what are ya gonna do? Hopefully he is more motivated than he (surprisingly) somewhat was last year.

I'm surprised and disappointed that the Ravens didn't do more to find a new LT and LG, like the Steelers did. But they have a couple projects that may fit in eventually or Ozzie will find someone just like he did with McKinney last year. You can say what you want, but they had a good record, beat the Steelers and other division foes twice, and were one completion from the Super Bowl with very little star-power. I'm not saying they're great, because it takes good health and good luck to make it that far too...but somehow they usually are there for the playoffs.
This is going to be a tough year for them with their luck, age, and health running out...but if anybody can make the most of it...the Ravens can.

I can’t wait for the movie about the OTHER OT from Baltimore.

The touching story of Bryant McKinnie trying to lose weight while “Jazzercising” and “Sweatin’ To The Oldies”. Join us for…

“THE BEHIND WIDE”

Don't forget when he tried playing tennis with the williams sisters to get in shape. His plan was just standing in one spot and asking them to hit the ball directly to him.

If McKinney was committed to being the best, he's be around 335 lbs. He wouldn't get pushed around at 335.

Joe Thomas is one of the best tackles going and he's 6'7" and 311 lbs. So at one inch shorter he's 40 lbs lighter than what McKinney says is ideal. And Thomas doesn't get pushed around.

Truth is even at 335 lbs people would still try to go around McKinney and not through him. Bryant will always do the minimum required to keep collecting paychecks.

If I were a Raven fan I'd be worried. Whenever McKinney starts talking about losing weight in the offseason he comes in heavier than the coaches expect. I'd honestly be very surprised if he shows up to camp under 365 lbs. Still a decent LT though so what do you do, take the good with the bad.

Mount McKinney has always had the 'talent' to be one of the best LTs in the league, he simply has never applied himself since he entered the NFL. He's been a disappointment on and off the field. He's big and fat, so he should be a good blocking tackle, but forget about pass protection. It hasn't been his forte since he started being paid to play the game.

I don't know what happened to him the rest of last season, but I remember the first game of the season (against the Steelers) the dude was an impenetrable fortress. Every time someone tried to either go around or through him, he stonewalled them. Incredibly impressive performance, but I don't remember him having nearly that good a game from that point forward.

You do realize he’s 6 foot eight. 6 foot eight 350 pounds is not a massive fat slob. He will be in shape you believe the ravens offense of line. McKinney will be back

----------------------------

No but hes not 350... I bet hes around 400...

Mckinnie was never truly in good shape, but always had that fat slob mentality...aint gonna happen..
