Adam Gettis becomes third Redskins draft pick to sign

The Washington Redskins announced the signings of seventh-round draft picks Richard Crawford and Jordan Bernstine on Friday afternoon.

On Saturday, fifth-round selection Adam Gettis became the third member of the Redskins’ rookie draft class to sign.

The 141st overall pick, Gettis started 29 games for the Iowa Hawkeyes. Though undersized at 6-foot-2 and 293 pounds, Gettis was one of the top performers in athletic testing at February’s Scouting Combine. He’s a system fit for Mike Shanahan’s zone-blocking scheme.

Gettis played guard in college and may get a look at center in training camp.

The Redskins have six draft picks left to get under contract, but they have an early jump on the rest of the NFL.

Besides being the #2 pick in the draft, name me one thing that Leaf and RG3 have in common. I am waiting… I didn’t think you could come up with anything.

Is RG3 going to be the franchise savior for the Redskins. I don’t know, no one does. However, thee comparisons between Leaf and RG3 while I hear it alot are silly.

Adam Gettis was a nice draft pick for the Redskins. He fits perfectly into their zone-blocking scheme. As a Texans fan, I was really hoping we would pick him up in the sixth or seventh round.

Care to explain intelligently why you think RGIII is overrated and will fail as an NFL player?
    Didn’t think so.
