Kirby Wilson back to work at Steelers minicamp

Four months after he was badly burned in a fire in his home, Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson is back at work, on the practice field for the team’s rookie minicamp this weekend.

Wilson, who is dividing his time between working for the Steelers and rehabbing after he was burned on 45 percent of his body, did not talk to the media this weekend. But Steelers players said Wilson seemed enthusiastic to be there.

“I told him, ‘God bless you that you’re still here and I’m praying for you,’” Steelers rookie running back Chris Rainey told WPXI. “He’s glad to be back and he’s just ready to work and I’m right with him.”

The 50-year-old Wilson is heading into his sixth season on the Steelers’ staff.

Having survived being burned over 40% of my body as well, I’m not offended by babyhorsehorgan’s comments, but I do hope it never happens to him/her or anyone he/she cares about. It’s a nasty deal.

Thank god, I’m happy for him. Also, that’s the most positive news I’ve heard in a long time. It’s nice for a change.

I can’t believe this site posted a “Steeler” story without a negative bias in it. I’ll have to re-read it again, apparently I missed it.

Maybe it is because MDS penned it instead of the #1 hater from WV.
