The Broncos run a 4-3, yet they drafted Miller, a 3-4 rush backer, #2 overall last year. Miller is certainly a better overall player than Irvin, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were able to teach him how to cover the pass to use him at OLB.

Hmm I think you mean Aldon Smith type role because he isn’t going to be an every down OLB/DE like Von Miller was. Also Smith was used in that role because they didn’t need him to start. Smith however will be a full time player this year. Don’t get me wrong though. There’s nothing saying Irvin can’t bulk up but he certainly won’t be an every down guy for at least a few years

Yeah, because Smith was so extensively used on run downs last year. Oh wait, my bad, he was off the field in running situations and was strictly a pass rush specialist…which is the same role Irvin will play this year.

For the record, Chris Clemons is the current starting “LEO” defensive end for Seattle, at a whopping 255. Irvin only needs to put on ten pounds to reach that weight. In the meantime, he’ll take Raheem Brock’s role as DE pass rush specialist.

Coples looked non-explosive and Ingram was a tweener. He will be a speed rusher that makes QB’s nervous wondering if he is right behind them. Like a Jared Allen. I am hoping for very good things as a Seattle fan. Can’t wait to get him playing with the loud crowd.
