Among the statements contained in the declaration of former Saints defensive end Anthony Hargrove is the explanation that Hargrove was informed by former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams that “some people thought I had told Vikings player Jimmy Kennedy about the existence of a ‘bounty’ on Brett Favre because I an friends with Jimmy from our playing days at St. Louis.”

Kennedy, who now plays for the Giants, denies that he ever told anyone that Hargrove told him anything about a bounty. Strongly.

In a series of entries posted on his verified Twitter account, Kennedy is clear and unequivocal in his position that neither Hargrove nor any other member of the Saints said anything to him about a bounty.

It’s a minor point in the broader scheme of the bounty investigation, but we wanted to mention Kennedy’s position out of respect to him.
