Ha Ha, didn’t we beat your Vikings. We didn’t commit one penalty against the 49′ers, so maybe this bounty crap is just that crap. Unlike Viking fans, we do understand that 5 TO will lose the game for you and guest what, we still lost in the final seconds. But, we don’t whine like you guys. I do agree teams should stay put. But, all you freaking Viking fans do is whine, which doesn’t make people sympathic to your cause.

As a long-time Southern California resident who emigrated from the Upper Midwest, I would a) Love to have an NFL team back here, and b) would hate for that team to be the Vikings.

Sadly, expansion is simply not going to happen.

First, it would upset the current structure of the divisions and the conferences. The math is just perfect; the League is not going to go back to unbalanced divisions. You can’t just add one team. Even if you operate on the premise that the League would realign to make room for an expansion franchise, it still wouldn’t work. If the NFL were to go back to 3 Divisions per conference, you would need to add 4 teams to make the math work (3 Divisions of 6 teams each = 18 teams per Conference or 36 teams total). So LA is one. Where are the other 3 going to go? Toronto? Mexico City? London? None of these is remotely realistic.

Secondly (actually, probably primarily, is the matter of money. While the League would no doubt extort an expansion fee somewhere in the neighborhood of $1B, there is the matter of the NFL’s primary source of income. With an additional team, the owners would have to split the TV contracts 33 ways (if you ignore the above paragraph) instead of 32. In the long run, 31 owners and the Packers organization lose money. There’s only so big the TV pie can grow, and I think we’re pretty close to it. Absent a new revenue stream tied to the expansion team that compensates for a smaller slice of the pie, there’s no way the NFL goes for it.

Just give us back the team that the Wicked Witch of the NFC West stole from us, and we’ll call it good.

The governor may support it but he isn’t willing to do anything to compromise with the Republicans to get their votes. He vetoes everything they pass and then expects them to vote for his pet project.

Classless, is constantly getting on this site and crying about the NFC Championship game and saying our Title is tainted. Don’t turn the ball over 5 times and have a QB that made a career of thowing stupid interceptions. Saints fan have been hearing that crap for 3 years now. By the way, real tough behind a computer.

Pass the stupid bill. It is a GREAT bill because the 16th largest NFL market is extracting the 3rd largest private contribution ever for a state owned arena of this size. Our politicians are just too stupid to see what a good deal they’ve already negotiated for us.

This is a terrific, mutually beneficial partnership. The opposition is not educated on the subject. When you listen to ANY politician that opposes this they all say the same thing. “Well, I would support it if *insert minor detail* was slightly different”. or “well my focus is *insert other issue* and I don’t want to vote for this without some help there”.

Not once has a politician said “the State is better off with no stadium and no NFL than it is by building a world class arena”. Not once has a single politician said that this deal is worse than the likely alternative that comes with voting against it.

That tells you something about the politicians that we’ve elected. Children stamping their feet that would rather not have a birthday at all if they can’t go to chucky cheese.

While everyone is blaming mushwit politicians, they might also consider how the Vikings organization has been operating over the years, from the Love Boat to the relentless kiss-ups to Brett Pevre, (who will soon testify, ho ho), and everything else.

I think just about everyone is glad they don’t have to live where they elect a wrestler as governor and a crosseyed dingbat as a senator.

If the Vikings disappear, we football fans will notice–for about two years.

Some of you guys are clueless. This isn’t the Jaguars or the Rams, here. The Twin Cities are a Vikings town, and it’s not even close. That’s why every game is sold out even during a 3-13 season.

Count me in as one of the die hard Packer fans that wants the stadium to pass. Let’s not kid ourselves though. Half of the Viking “sell outs” are done thanks to the local Fox affiliate buying the remaining 1,000 – 2,000 tickets leftover. That said, part of the problem in truly selling out the Metrodome is that it’s such a pile of poo that people don’t want to go and watch a game there. Despite most of the Viking fans I know being clueless about football, despite the Vikings having the ugliest uniforms in pro sports, despite them being a worthless franchise that has never won anything of consequence – keep them in Minnesota so I can keep waving the Pack’s four Lombardis in their faces! Here’s to the rivalry MN losers!

Well gooood for you, you own a $100 certificate, ie; piece of paper with no ownership privileges…

It’s unique…something no other fans of teams can say they have. It’s like memorabilia…it’s like that autographed Gary Anderson picture you have from 1998 NFC Championship game…..yeah, something like that.

Should be easy enough to handicap. Are there more Minnesota Tea Partiers or Vikings fans who are eligible to vote in the state?
