With the Minnesota House of Representatives taking up a bill that would build a new stadium for the Vikings, supporters of the effort are gathering at the State Capitol for a series of rallies.
A combination of Vikings fans and construction workers have shown up to push for the passage of the bill. Opponents have yet to make an appearance.
“Minnesota’s a can-do state,” Governor Mark Dayton told the crowd, via the Associated Press. “We’ve been successful because we say, ‘Yes we’re going to move ahead. Yes, we’re going to create more jobs. Yes, we’re going to do the things we want to do to remain vital and strong.’”
Players are expected to show up on Monday afternoon for another rally, as the House moves toward a vote.
A vote may not happen until after midnight.
