The Bengals shuffled their roster mix a bit on Tuesday when they were awarded two players off of waivers.
Guard Chris Riley was in camp with the Bengals last season but didn’t make the final roster. He signed with the Buccaneers in October and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. He was one of 12 players waived by the Bucs after they signed a baker’s dozen players who tried out for them at last weekend’s rookie minicamp.
The Bengals also claimed defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga off of waivers from the Redskins. Meatoga was signed as a rookie free agent last week and let go on Monday. He made the All-WAC second team while playing for Hawaii last season.
Both players will be fighting to make an impression in the fight for backup roles in Cincinnati.
