Getty ImagesThe Vikings, who are trying their best to get better after a woeful 3-13 season, could be getting help from a defensive player who once was regarded as one of the most promising young linebackers in the game.
Per a league source, the Vikings worked out Rocky McIntosh on Tuesday.
McIntosh spent six seasons with the Redskins. The shift from a 4-3 to the 3-4 defense resulted in a move inside. In 2011, McIntosh lost his starting job after the first eight games of the season.
The Vikings currently have nine linebackers on the roster.

Excellent 4-3 backer.
Once a Redskin…your career is OVER
Go get him!!!
If anyone needs a fresh start it is RM.
Any team that has a guy named Rocky on it is to be feared!
This definitely makes the Vikings super bowl contenders!
With questions about ej and erin only signed to one year. I know they have some young guys there. I think at very least he provides depth and veteran leadership.
I think he can start and if not injuries are a big part of the game at the right price i think he could really help. Who knows how jasper is after a year off too
He was a very good player for the Skins and I wish him the very best. I hope he gets a gig either here or somewhere else.
guarantee his knee finally gives out..gu is a awesome tackler though.. bummed skins didnt resign him..
Once thought of one of the most promising linebackers in the league? I live in dc, read the papers and listen to the pundits, bleed burgundy and gold… And this is news to me
Hahaha.
this would be a good sign for the vikes. he would likely start but either way would be a great addition to the LB core.
He did some good stuff in the 4-3. Definitely worth it as a back up at least, in the 4-3 that is.
as a skins fan I had high hopes for Rock and am honestly a little sad to see him go, but he is better suited as a 4-3 guy. good luck to you Rock wherever you land
Rock will have flashes of a dominate LB…… Then he will disappear. Good luck Viks!!
He was better as weakside LB in a 4-3 but still never exactly “Pro Bowl calibre”.
The main problem are his knees. He will look very good during the first few games but his production will decline throughout the year.
I really liked Rocky.
He will be an asset to any squad. Just a little old for us now…
