APThe Detroit Lions are on the board with the first signing among their eight draft picks.
Travis Lewis, a seventh-round linebacker from Oklahoma, has agreed to a four-year, $2.16 million deal.
“I told my agent, ‘Let’s get it done, so [I can] come in, hit the ground running and not have to worry about anything,’” Lewis told the Detroit Free Press. “It was pain-free. My agent handled all of it, and it was a relief just getting drafted, especially to the Lions. Just happy to sign an NFL contract and get paid to do something that I love.”
Lewis was a four-year starter at Oklahoma and led the team in tackles all four seasons.

Arguably the best steal of the draft
Led Oklahoma in tackles all 4 years? 7th round? Sounds like a real steal!
Welcome to the team.
THE GREAT DETROIT LIONS
Made 8 draft picks the got 8 all pro’s and 3 HOF players.
What a great great draft.
A solid tackling LB is exactly what we needed for that wide 9. Excellent pick! GO LIONS!
Listen, I’m a Lions fan, but, if he was so great, why did he last until the 7th Round?
only reason he dropped was because of that foot injury he had at oklahoma last season. lions will get the best of him
Travis – welcome to the Lions.
We expect you to be nothing less than the second coming of Chris Speilman!
