Rams add 23 undrafted rookie free agents

The Rams announced that they have signed 23 undrafted rookie free agents to contracts in advance of their rookie minicamp this weekend.

The list of players includes LSU guard T. Bob Hebert, Syracuse guard Michael Hay, Jacksonville State running back Calvin Middleton, Virginia defensive tackle Matt Conrath, Arizona State defensive end Jamaar Jarrett, Texas Tech defensive end Scott Smith, Wayne State tackle Joe Long, Michigan State fullback Todd Anderson, LSU tight end DeAngelo Peterson, Houston linebacker Sammy Brown, Washington State linebacker Alex Hoffman Ellis, Ohio linebacker Noah Keller, UCLA tight end Cory Harkey, Eastern Kentucky cornerback Jeremy Caldwell, UNLV safety Quinton Pointer, Stephen F. Austin linebacker Derrick Choice, Duke safety Matt Daniels (pictured), Virginia safety Rodney McLeod, Oregon State punter John Hekker, Dartmouth running back Nick Schwieger, UMass long snapper Travis Tripucka, Henderson State wide receiver Nicholas Johnson, Southern Miss quarterback Austin Davis.

Three members of the group have familial links to professional sports. Hebert is the son of former Saints quarterback Bobby Hebert, who made headlines when he lambasted his son’s college coach Les Miles at a press conference following their loss in the BCS Championship Game. Long is the younger brother of Dolphins tackle Jake Long and Tripucka’s grandfather Frank was a star quarterback for the Broncos whose number 18 was recently taken out of mothballs for Peyton Manning.
