Steelers sign two more picks

The Steelers announced the signing of two seventh-round picks, which means they are more than halfway done with signing their draft class.

Tight end David Paulson and cornerback Terrence Frederick both agreed to four-year deals with the team. They join tackle Mike Adams, nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu and wide receiver Toney Clemons as 2012 picks that have signed their contracts. Four more picks remain unsigned, including first-round pick David DeCastro.

Paulson caught 67 passes and 10 touchdowns while at Oregon. His ability to make himself useful as a receiver will likely determine whether or not he wins a roster spot. Frederick had six sacks and four interceptions at Texas A&M and projects as a slot corner. Special teams work will probably be his lot as a rookie.

The Steelers held their rookie minicamp last week so Paulson and Frederick have already begun the process of getting to know their new roles.
