ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Green Bay Packers have signed second-round pick Jerel Worthy, a defensive tackle out of Michigan State, to a four-year contract.

Worthy, the 51st overall selection, is expected to compete for the starting right defensive end job Green Bay failed to fill following Cullen Jenkins’ departure last offseason. Worthy is a quick-twitch, up-field pass rusher at 6-foot-2, 308. He racked up 27.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks as a 38-game starter for the Spartans.

As a senior, Worthy earned first-team All-American honors alongside Penn State defensive tackle Devon Still. Like Worthy, Still was a second-round pick, going to Cincinnati.
