Raiders make official 13 undrafted rookie signings

The Oakland Raiders were one of the last teams to announce their 2012 undrafted rookie class. They did so on Thursday evening, confirming the addition of 13 UDFAs.

They are as follows:

Utah cornerback Conroy Black, Nevada linebacker Kaelin Burnett, Beloit receiver/tight end Derek Carrier, USC receiver Brandon Carswell, Missouri defensive tackle Dominique Hamilton, Wisconsin safety Aaron Henry, Fort Valley State punter Marquette King, Arizona State tackle Dan Knapp, San Diego linebacker Mario Kurn, Cal (PA) receiver Thomas Mayo, Pittsburgh guard Lucas Nix, Penn State safety Chaz Powell, and Temple receiver Rod Streater.

Black, Burnett, and Carrier all visited the Raiders before the draft.

Perhaps the most highly regarded Raiders UDFA in draftnik circles was Nix, the guard from Pitt. The Raiders lack depth on the offensive line, so Nix’s agent did a good job of selecting a landing spot for his client.

Nix (pictured) entered his senior season with early-round grades from NFL scouts. He may have fallen out of the draft due to character and/or medical concerns.
