New General Manager Les Snead is continuing to put his stamp on the Rams organization.
Snead looked to his past to fill two spots near the top of the hierarchy of the scouting and personnel departments. Snead was formerly the director of player personnel for the Falcons and both of the new hires worked for him in Atlanta.
Ran Carthon, son of longtime NFL running back and current Chiefs assistant head coach Maurice Carthon, will be the new director of pro personnel. Carthon played nine games for the Colts in 2005 and 2006 and joined the Falcons as a pro scout in 2008. Taylor Morton, who scouted the Southeast for the Falcons, will be the director of college scouting in St. Louis. Morton replaces John Mancini, who will now be the team’s assistant director of college scouting.
The Rams are parting ways with vice president of player personnel Mike Williams as well as scouts Russ Bolinger and Brandon Schwab as they make things over to Snead’s wishes.
