Bengals sign Devon Still

The Bengals started rookie minicamp on Friday and signed one of their draft picks to celebrate.

PFT has learned, via a league source, that the team has reached agreement on a four-year deal with defensive tackle Devon Still. Still was taken in the second round with the 53rd overall pick after completing his career at Penn State.

Still had a monster 2011 season that landed him the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Award. He was a bit of a late bloomer thanks to injuries, which might have contributed to his drop into the second round after being invited to the draft by the NFL. Still landed with a team that could use his pass rushing ability on the interior, though, and if he proves that last year was no fluke he should be playing quite a bit for the Bengals come the fall.

Still’s the third Bengals draft pick to sign, but the start of camp will likely mean the other seven draft picks are locked up in short order.

UPDATE: Make that six other picks. The Bengals just announced Still’s signing as well as the signing of wide receiver Marvin Jones, who was selected in the fifth round.
