Eagles add Jacory Harris to quarterback carousel

Once upon a time, former University of Miami quarterback Jacory Harris was a budding star.  He cooled off considerably, and his name wasn’t called during the 2012 draft.

But he now has a job at the NFL level, a week after participating in the Dolphins’ rookie minicamp.

The Eagles have signed Harris, adding him to a depth chart that includes Mike Vick, Mike Kafka, Trent Edwards, and rookie third-rounder Nick Foles.

That gives the Eagles five quarterbacks, a trend that more teams may be adopting with the offseason rosters now at 90.

Harris is a long shot to make it to the final 53-man roster.  But as least he has a shot — and along the way he may learn something from quarterback guru Andy Reid that helps Harris stick somewhere else.

Knowing Jacory Harris, he will probably throw an interception before he gets to camp.

He made some good plays at the U but he just seemed clueless at times. He seemed unaware of the pass rush and would often throw into massive coverage or just hang up a jump-ball over the middle. Arm seemed good enough but he lacks brain-power

The Eagles had to have at least THOUGHT about trading to for Tebow. Andy Reidcan fix any QB.

FLOP written all over Harris at QB, he would be a good WR tho

By my count that still gives them four quarterbacks…and Jacory Harris.

The Eagles will win Super Bowl 47. Bet on it BITCHES.

He could really be a very good qb if he can improve his decision making… he tries to make too many plays and is an interception throwing machine…

    Dream Team

He should go a few miles north on Rt 95 and help out the NJ Giants, at least he has a chance there. No backup QB, and Eli is due a season ending injury soon. It’s just a matter of time…

Your going to keep saying “Dream Team” which was a quote by one really bad quarterback who is not even on this team anymore. Come up with something original or move on

He’s already got a better shot of making the Eagles roster than Vince Young does.

Why are we still referring to Andy Reid as a Qb guru??

YouTube the hit he took while playing Virginia. Best in football

The Dolphins are the most desperate team in the NFL looking for QB’s and looked at him last week and then said “No Thank You” on this 5’10” guy with very poor Pro Level skills. Does that tell you Eagles Fans something? He is being brought in until August to throw at Practices. Case Closed!

  15. laxcoach37 says: May 11, 2012 9:44 PM

Oops my bad! He is 6’3″ I was thinking of another UDFA player, but still he wont make the Roster or Practice Squad.

Could be a good practice squad addition and buddy on the team for Brandon Washington. I just hope Harris isn’t a distraction for Washington. If he is, dump him, Washington has starting Guard potential.

Hopefully they’ll sign the recently-dropped Jordan Jefferson to really round things out.
