Browns get eight of 11 draft picks under contract

When Browns G.M. Tom Heckert told PFT Live on Wednesday that the Browns would try to get several of their rookie draft picks under contract before the weekend, he wasn’t kidding.

The team has announced that eight of 11 draft picks have signed their rookie contracts.

They are: second-round tackle Mitchell Schwartz, third-round defensive lineman John Hughes, fourth-round receiver Travis Benjamin, fourth-round linebacker James-Michael Johnson, fifth-round offensive lineman Ryan Miller, sixthh-round defensive lineman Billy Winn, seventh-round defensive back
Trevin Wade, and seventh-round fullback Brad Smelley.

Unsigned are first-round running back Trent Richardson, first-round quarterback Brandon Weeden, and sixth-round linebacker Emmanual Acho.
