Brett Favre went through a season of unwarranted harassment investigations for the same reason. The incident had taken place nearly three years earlier and the woman had never filed a complaint. But he was a high-profile player getting a lot of of bad national publicity so Goodell needed the public to believe he was taking it seriously.

Most casual football fans and their kiddies wouldn’t know Brandon Marshall from Elmo. He’ll get a pass.

Trouble seems to either follow this guy or he is just that stupid.

Man and wife can’t go out to celebrate with friends at a club?! I don’t see a problem with it. Actually, I’d prefer it. Compared to Marshall going to a club by himself without his wife. He’d probably get into more trouble.

Plus, they both had just left a charity event, they wanted to go out and celebrate.

I don’t know where you’ve been the last several months but BM was traded by Miami to the Bears the day after this incident took place. So, while I agree they should obtain a #1 WR they can’t increase his stats or give him more balls because, well he doesn’t play there anymore.

While there have been moments in time in which sports have been politically poignant, this is not one of those times. Keep the politics away from sports when you can, for a lot of us, this is our form of escapism from a very frustrating world.
