Okay, read up further, Gorges tore his ACL in junior hockey and chose to play the next seven years with a brace, even though doctors told him his knee would be merely ‘functional’ without surgery, and ultimately he had to give in to the knife anyway…Again, is this a sign of toughness, or selfish pride? How much better could he have been had the knee been fixed right away?

Just read up on Josh Gorges, saw where he had successful reconstruction surgery on his injured right knee February 19, 2011 and missed the rest of the 2010–11 season as a result. Not one word about how he supposedly played eight years on a torn ACL, but if he had, how is that commendable? He should have had the surgery sooner rather than hurting the teams he played for by skating on a bum leg.

Just sayin’.

The other side of the optimistic coin is the Bears BETTER get something done this year. Lovie is on a short leash, the defensive stars are all 30+, and Cutler is just on the other side of his “fat years” (i.e. the best years the average athlete has – 25-28). Whatever window the Bears might have gotten with Marshall is not going to stay open for long. And there still isn’t the best O-line in the world protecting him. The Bears have buzzed through the best part of Cutler’s career with no protection and they still don’t seem to want to provide any. The odds still have the Bears third in the division.

if you had any knowledge of health sciences or anatomy you would know how STUPID it is to “play through” ligament damage. if it doesn’t heal properly it could easily end your career, which is why surgery is routinely scheduled for athletes who suffer an injury like this.

they’re still human beings like any of us, you’d think with all the lawsuits being filed against the NFL by retired players over injuries sustained during their tenure that even a mope like you could understand how real the risks they take playing this game really are.

People seem to think that Marshall has “fixed” his problems. That doesn’t happen with borderline personality types. He’ll braid right back down. A high stress job in not the place for someone who can’t handle stress, and who is always on the brink of deep depression even when things are going well.

Enjoy his sunny personality now…once he starts dropping easy TD passes (and he will, he’s Brandon Marshall) and once he starts killing drives with dumb penalties (and he will, he’s Brandon Marshall) he’ll spiral right back to the darkness.

And just like it was Miami’s fault for “not having a QB” that he dropped five…count them FIVE…passes in the end zone (apparently, those passes threw themselves), he’ll find someone else to blame in Chicago.
