The irony of it all of course, is that the Bengals made the playoffs and have a seemingly bright future while the Raiders didn’t and had to cut quite a few players to stay under the cap.

Again you are not a GM and have no idea why he has been BLACKBALLED from the NFL, But real football people do and thats enough for me.

Don’t matter how much everyone hates T.O., dude can play. Yeah, he tore his ACL and hes getting older but I find it hard to believe no team is willing to even give him a look. Hes better than a good percentage of receivers in the league now. I know hes been known to be a cancer in the locker room but he produces, bottom line. Someone should sign him and give him a chance.

The fact that no team even wants to work him out shows what you dont know about him.

Do you have some polls or stats to back up that statement about 95% of his teammates saying that TO was a good teammate? Teams know what a cancer TO is. Otherwise they would have re-signed a player who caught almost 1000 yards. Teams overlook a lot of off field transgressions as long as they produce. There’s a darn good reason why they won’t sign TO or give him a look. He’s a cancer, a loudmouth, and turns on teammates and coaches.

DHB- great at Maryland, trust me I watched him every game back then, but for his draft position a bust. (Torrey Smith is FAR superior)

Jacoby Ford- All speed, not great hands, not great route running, primarily a return guy (where the majority of his TD’s came from)

Louis Murphy- Can’t stay on the field. Injury issues and a #3 at best.

I’ll credit Moore, he’s a solid wideout. Certaintly not a guy you’ll be talking about with the Wallace’s, Fitz’s and Megatron’s of the league, but still a solid player. And judging Criner to this point is assanine considering we’re talking no pads, no contact.

Overall not a bad core of guys, just a very average group.

Prob cuz they blow by your teams DB’s too fast

Knapp and Owens have a history, but Knapp aint that great of an offensive coordinator!!!! He’s had three straight failures at OC ever since he left San Francisco!!!

Plus, Terrell Owens wants to win a Super Bowl!!! Oakland is unlikely to go there this year!!! Do you think T.O. really wants to play for the Silver & Black???

… or maintaining focus on little flat routes so that he didn’t turn attention upfield to run with the ball BEFORE catching & securing it, thus leading to maddening unforced drops when nobody was anywhere near him

… or keeping opponents from making a critical pick6 by making like a DB when the ball would be slightly off target to him

… or learning the playbook better than any number of vet DBs in division who obviously had better awareness of where Palmer would be throwing to spots than T.O. bothered to commit to memory & thus BE THERE himself, first.

This is the stuff that would be made painfully (or gleefully, if you were devising your game plans as an upcoming opponent or potential candidate for retaining the services of TO) aware in the meeting rooms after the fact that would likely never be mentioned by any team personnel to the press … and why teams would move on w/o TO.

A team he could help is the Ravens. You have Smith who is the deep threat on the other side and T.O. can handle the short/intermediate stuff. And Harbaugh can keep him in control.

But that makes to much sense.

I’m sure Palmer’s teammates were extremely flattered by his comments about T.O.

As for your attempt at throwing Cutler under the bus realize that what Cutler and Palmer are doing is no different then what QB’s like P. Manning and Brady had done in the past. Motivate their teammates to utilize their talents to take the next step.

TO, even at his old age is too fast for Palmers weakening arm.

Palmer threw the long ball extremely well last season. Maybe if you watched the games you would know that. But you’re probably busy watching cartoons on Sundays…

What promising career did Owens throw away?

He’s got a strong case for the Hall of Fame thanks to the weakened criteria for receivers (thanks Swann)

Brett Favre can be addicted to pain killers and send lewd pictures to coworkers, Ben Roethlisberger can sexually assault random women and Tim Tebow can have more endorsements than TD passes but a special kind of hate is reserved for Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens; two guys who….have done nothing to embarrass their communities or teams. Ridiculous comments, soundbites taken out of context and missed attempts at humor are NOT as damaging as haters would have us believe.

I don’t doubt Owens can still play but I like OAK’s group of receivers right now. We need a veteran TE before anything else.

Or Denarius Moore, who had 618 yards and five TDs in 13 games as a rookie.

Or Jacoby Ford, who was hurt much of last year but was a human highlight reel as a rookie.

Or Louis Murphy, certainly no superstar, but a solid role player.

Or even Juron Criner, who was drafted this year and was just written about by profootballtalk yesterday.
