The Titans have signed one of their draft picks to a contract.
Defensive tackle Mike Martin, a third-round pick in April, has agreed to terms on his rookie deal. As with any player drafted after the first round, it is a four-year deal and Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean pegs the value at $2.72 million.
Martin started at nose tackle for Michigan and was a big part of the team’s turnaround from 7-6 to 11-2 winners of the Sugar Bowl. With the Titans, Martin will be asked to play a different role. He’ll be asked to line up outside the center, shoot gaps and, the Titans hope, provide some interior pass rush. Jurrell Casey has a hold at one starting spot with Martin, Karl Klug, Sen’Derrick Marks and Shaun Smith also looking for snaps.
The Titans have also signed cornerback Coty Sensabaugh, their fourth-round pick. They have five more draft picks to sign from the 2012 group.
