Even if the Giants win another 2 in 4 years, the whole dynasty thing won't fit. I'm a huge Giants fan & bleed blue, but winning only 1 division title at 9-7, and 1 Wild Card at 10-6 doesn't equate to a dynasty. When I think of dynasty, I think of the old Steelers' Steel Curtain; I think of Lombardi's Packers; I think of the 90's Yankees; and I most certainly think of the 80's NY Islanders. A dynasty is a team that is there every year, wins division titles every year (with or without Super Bowl) & dominates. I'm not even sure the Patriots with Brady & BB qualify as a dynasty, but they are the closest we will get to seeing one in today's NFL with parity. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind a couple more titles coming to town. While it may not make a dynasty, those titles would make Eli Manning one of the greatest QB's in NFL history & finally take him out of Peyton's shadow.

I doubt it. The 2 times they have won they had to fight to get in the playoffs and narrowly won their games. Not to mention they were not dominant between Superbowls seasons. Heck between the 2 SB winning seasons they had a double digit 1st round playoff exit and missed the playoffs the next 2 years...
They have a long way to go to be a dynasty.

This is the NFL children, winning is all that matters. If you disagree, look up the opinion of Mr. Lombardi, Mr. Landry, or Mr. Walsh on the subject.
Continue dreaming, and hoping saying ' maybe this'll be our year '.
Play the blame game. Say that it was fixed. Call Eli out, say he's not the same caliber a QB as Rogers, Brees or Brady.
Now call the ownership and mgmt shady, and underhanded.
We'll keep winning, and fueling the victory parade vehicles with your tears.

See you in New Orleans for XLVII.

bigbluecrew420 says:May 17, 2012 2:07 PM
"Brady- yup Eli beat him TWICE last season
Rogers- Yup, Eli sent him home this year too.

Also u think those records don’t mean squat? Yeah your right. Who wants to have the CLUTCHEST QB in NFL history anyways?
Eli battles back better than any QB ever just look at the stats bud!"

Not hard to beat Brady & Rodgers when your defense is sacking them 5 times a game, not hard to beat 'em when their defenses are the 31st & 32nd ranked...

And if the Giants are so talented and Eli is so elite, why is they always trail late in games against garbage teams like the Cowboys/Seahawks(who they lost to) ?

To the dude who said its fixed, really? You must be a Pats fan. The only team Goodell fixes is the Pats, by throwing away their cheatsheets and giving them the easiest schedule in the NFL AFTER they just played in a super bowl. My god, it's supposed to be based on the previous years standings, well throw that out the window. One of the best records in the nfl and a SB appearance and they get the #1 easiest schedule, and you say the Giants superbowls were fixed?? Really? Just wow, maybe lucky but not fixed, the idiocy amazes me.

Props to the Giants, they got hot at the right time. However they now have a huge target on their back so repeating will be especially difficult. They appear to be a well rounded team so it would not surprise me to see them in the hunt every year. Consistently in the play-offs and 1 more Super Bowl win before we start talking dynasty.

First off im gonna ignore all comments by fans of team who havent won a Super Bowl EVER (Eagles). Next i ignore the fans of teams who havent won a SB since zubaz pants and flat tops were cool (Cowboys & Redskins). You can all sit around and knock the Giants chances all you want, but the painful truth is they have a better chance of getting another ring that 80% of the teams in the NFL right now. So im sorry your teams either came up short last year or really never had a shot, but try taking a break from being haters for a minute and realize JT was just saying what everybody there was thinking. Dude wasnt making any guarantees. So stop hating and check out those cool ass rings!

@nfl1818 -

Steelers – pass rush slipped. Plus, Ben was exposed once running game broke down and he saw less man to man…scramble around for 7 seconds until someone finally shakes free.

Ravens – no WRs whatsoever. Jury is also out on Flacco. Also not sold on the thought they can overcome loss of Suggs.

I actually see these teams finally coming back to the pack this year. Wouldn’t be surprised at all if they both finished 9-7 and the gals’ took the division at 10-6.

Ty for completing the analysis ! :) cant argue your points and agree that the SB is just a matter of evaluating 6-7 teams

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I’m having a hard time catching my breath now after laughing so hard.

The two they recently won were not earned. The first was obviously a fixed game (don’t try to argue people, it was what it was and if you don’t know that, you don’t know the game as well as you think you do). The second they were lucky that the opposing team decided not to show up or play.

------------------------------------------------------------

Oh I get it. So you present NO FACTS to back up what you say and then declare that if we don't agree with your mindless summation, we don't know football. HMMM. Let me take a stab at this.

Everyone knows that you could fly by flapping your arms when you jump off of a building. If you try to say anything different, you clearly have no knowledge of aerodynamics and are an idiot.

How'd I do?

Please try to use your brain for something other than a seat cushion. As long as the Giants have NASCAR, one of the best receiving corps in the league, a clutch QB, starters on both sides of the ball returning from injury, we have at the very least a puncher's chance. I will agree that dynasty is a strong word, but 2 SB's if 5 years is not a fluke. Deal with it! Go Giants!

Ahh…..spoken like a true Giants fan backing their shady owner. You just had to put that inaccurate statement in there to justify getting swept last year. I will put not my skins in your category just yet, but in a year it will be sweet to throw this back down your throat, even with having that illegal cap penalty being issue by Mara. Karma’s a bitch.

Ahh...spoken like a true idiot. I'm not a Giants fan, doofus. And dissing ANY owner when your owner is Dan "Infant Terribile" Snyder is an even bigger joke.

I must have missed the part where Mara was ever commissioner...must have been just after Robert Kraft stepped down in 2007 (after destroying all of the Spygate video evidence).

Ravens - no WRs whatsoever. Jury is also out on Flacco. Also not sold on the thought they can overcome loss of Suggs.

I actually see these teams finally coming back to the pack this year. Wouldn't be surprised at all if they both finished 9-7 and the gals' took the division at 10-6.

Fat chance! Eli is the worst QB in the history of the NFL to win 2 SB rings. If he didn’t have a very strong defense, he wouldn’t even have one.

———————————————

Worst QB to win 2 SUPERBOWLS! LOL!!
thanks I needed that laugh. I love all the hate it makes winning a game in Feb feel good all year long!!!
For the worst QB to win a couple SBs he sure has a great resume including a TON of NFL all-time records…

-2× Pro Bowl (2008, 2011)
-2× Super Bowl champion (XLII, XLVI)
-2× Super Bowl MVP (XLII, XLVI)
-2× NFC Champion (2007, 2011)
-NFL Record most 4th quarter touchdown passes in a season (15)
-Tied NFL Record longest pass completion and touchdown (99 yards)
-NFL Record most road playoff wins by a quarterback (5)
-Tied NFL Record most game-winning drives in a season (8)
-Most road wins in a single regular season and postseason by a starting quarterback (10)
-Most passing yards in a single postseason (1219 yards)

WHOS BETTER!?!?!?!?!

—————

Brady, Brees, Peyton, Rodgers. All of them are better. Also, that list of records isn’t impressive. The Superbowls are impressive and maybe the post season passing yards, but the other ones aren’t records anyone cares about. The other guys I listed all have much better career stats and all hold at least 1 great all time record. Only Brady has more Super Bowls of course.

Eli isn’t the worst QB to win two superbowls though. That is Bob Griese for sure. Plunket was also worse than Eli. Roethlisberger is debatable.

Enjoy your year of gloating!

__
Plunkett only suffers from having to play for the craptastic Patriots in his early career. As it was, Brady hardly carried any of the Super Bowl teams that he won a ring with, being outpassed by all three opposing QBs in those game, relying on his defense to keep him in the game.

And compared to the over-the-top gloating that Bostonians do whenever their teams win anything, New Yorkers are sedate by comparison.
