I honestly didn’t know he was still alive. Great football player in his day, but just another ex- player cliche. The NFL really needs some type of manditory program to check in on some of these guys after they are out of the league. It’s sad ,but real tough to feel sorry for these dudes blowing through piles of money on drugs, toys, and lavish lifestyles when the majority of us could live one year on one of their gamechecks. BOO HOO

I absolutely worshiped this athlete’s on field play, but thankfully was taught not to idolize any mortals, every single one of us will break your heart.

LT is more flawed than many, but that ring is still an important piece of memorabilia.

He doesn’t feel sorry for a guy who had it all and threw it down the drain over and over (I agree) and you call him “judgmental” like it’s some insult and purport that he has skeletons worse than that in his closet? How does your baseless claim about him serve as anything but extreme hypocrisy on your part? Too funny.

Patrick Willis had 1000X worse of a life growing up than LT did and he seems to be a great person. I personally respect those who have his strength of character despite a horrible life.

I used to idolize LT as a kid. I view him as a real low life in my adult years. Wish I could say its a shame that all this has happened to him, but the reality is he did this all to himself.

Taylor’s demons and personal wreckage not withstanding, he changed the way the game is played (as so eloquently portrayed in Michael Lewis’ “Blind Side).

I was struck by a comment in Belechick’s “A football life” documentary when he said “when you really, really had to have it – Taylor always delivered.”

You can’t say that about most pro football players. A monster, a beast – a guy completely committed to destroying the QB and wreaking havoc on offenses.

I know I’d want him on my team.
