What’s with all the irrational Kubiak hate here? The guy’s a pretty awesome NFL coach. His 5th round 3rd string QB played better than half the starters in the league! But people here are saying Kubiak sucks because Kevin Walter is on the team? Is it me or are commenters here getting stupider?

Dalucks is right. As much as I love the texans, kubes sucks. He just doesn’t get it. Poor clock management, can’t make adjustments, bad game plans. We’d be much better with bum’s kid running the show.

The Bengals swept the AFC north after hard knocks, so I don’t think it affects these teams in a negative way. If anything, it makes the players push even harder cuz they’re on camera.

I would rather kill myself than have to watch the Jaguars on Hard Knocks.

The Texans would have been a terrific choice, but I guess they have their reasons why they turned them down. My suspicion is that HBO would discover that maybe there is a schism in the camp between the 2 coaches.

As a Texans fan, I am not surprised. Gary Kubiak does everything that Mike Shanahan does. He hired Mike’s son to run Mike’s offense, he signed John Beck after Mike Shanahan released him, and neither are worth the money they are being paid at this point. Gary is 47-49 in six seasons with 1 playoff berth so unless he goest 12-4 and wins the division, it looks like he and Mike will be doing else together: Looking for a new job.
At this point, I would rather have Wade Phillips as our coach and defensive coordinator then we should hire Norv Turner to be the offensive coordinator since he will probably be fired from San Diego.
I will give Rick Smith the benefit of the doubt and let him stay for two more years but someone in the organization needs to realize we need to cut Kevin Walter asap as he is the #1 reason Andre Johnson struggles against elite teams. Walter is not a #2 wide reciever and please stop telling me how good he blocks to cover up the fact that he does not make plays in the passing game.

New coach, new owner, QB competition between Henne & Gabbert, MJD holding out for a new contract…. Sounds like a pretty good show.
